Hello there. Eater of food, taster of wines, rider of bicycles, dispenser of Bespeisungswonne, spectator of rugby, listener of music, watcher of film & reader of books. Not necessarily in that order. Many shoes.
Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI
Absolute unconditional solidarity with my trans friends - that I know and that I don't - today. Live your lives. This is when allyship may need to become action; stand up to the utter freaks who will try to police this. All suggestions/ideas welcome.
Anyway i will just continue using the women’s toilet cause I am a woman and over my dead body will you deny who i am
This evening 👇🏼✒️🌿
On Weds eve I'll be relaunching my botanical & bird illustration & mental health workshops & my small museums/collecting for mental health classes on zoom The first dates will be next month & will have limited spaces. If you'd like to buy workshop recordings my site's here: workshops.emmamitchell.uk
I've said this before but it's worth saying again. The #ECHR was created to stop Europe from sliding back into fascism. If a political party tells you that they can't do what they want within the ECHR then stop and think about what it is they actually want to do.
May I ask where the climate science brigade hang out here? I have questions. We, in the Bolivian Andes, are having the most bizarre Winter; daytime temps over the last few weeks have been above 30°C. I need to get a better understanding on the modelling of this new El Niño event.
I would like to propose the Taco Bell Principle When a person/institution Did A Problem, & IMMEDIATELY fesses up & takes proactive steps to solve it That's exactly what we want them to do? So how bout we let them live ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
Can't wait for Leia to lay into Han like a furious Welsh Mam. There is truly nothing else like it in the Known Universe...

If I have absolutely no preference whatsoever for how much melanin the doctor or nurse treating me has or where they’re from does that mean I can skip the nhs waiting list queue? I am actually waiting for a minor procedure so this would be handy…
news.sky.com/story/nhs-st... stereotypically this has been seen as Old People, but not only would the old people of now have often been born post-Windrush, lot of this will be younger people who've always lived in a diverse Britain. The guy with a pregnant wife likely millennial at oldest
Not gonna lie, I remain delighted that Bluesky management hates that the platform was immediately co-opted by artists and queers.
look, if fear of having everyone on the internet celebrate your death by bringing up every bad thing you’ve done is what it takes to stop people being cunts while they’re alive, i say let’s give it a go
A week off, so we're relaxing. Now on the 3rd bottle of wine this weekend from the Wine Society that is absolute garbage. Thin, vague, no perfume, no fruit character & no discernible flavour whatsoever. Don't know what's going on over there, but £5 at Aldi is spent better. All 3 well over £10
Anyone in Norwich UK whose handle I might recognise wanna do a little gardening? My struggle is I'm one guy with an energy limiting condition, but if a bunch of people did a tiny bit like waved a strimmer around for 10 minutes or pulled a dozen weeds, we could get it fixed quick.
Day 6. Not going to lie — this is hard (especially after I scored a few runs in cricket yesterday 😊🏏). Every KM ran is to call for radical change on our roads and support the charity Brake. So many lives are lost to preventable danger. We can do better. Below are some issues to target: #RoadSafety
THREAD/ORIGINAL ART GIVEAWAY This hare linoprint is by my mum, Jo. I'll be sending an original of this to one randomly chosen person who reposts this link to my recently updated website & pops a reply below. www.tom-cox.com The offer is open worldwide. I also have some more art to give away...
We’re taking care of a new island! The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales is pleased to announce the 20-year lease of Middleholm Island from National Trust Cymru. Middleholm, along with Skomer, Skokholm, Cardigan and St Margaret’s, will become the fifth island in our care.
For the uninitiated, this is Pelé offering you a kickabout on the beach; this is Sachin Tendulkar asking if you would like to knock a few balls about the park; this is Serena Williams giving you a 40-love lead and offering you the serve.

Slipped and fell hard on some ice outside the railway station. Almost before I had come to a stop, two blokes had picked me up (90kg in my brogues) and another woman was sort of telling me off asking me to be more careful and look after myself better. Never change, Swansea.
quote this with a time a bystander helped you out
The DWP are asking for people to contribute evidence for a forthcoming review of Carers Allowance and how it operates. Admittedly this is niche, but please spread the word so it reaches the right people. www.gov.uk/government/c...

This call for evidence is being administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to gather information and views to build on the Department’s existing evidence. What we hear will help shape ...

This is the same argument as "let it rip." My mother caught Covid and choked to death in hospital without any of us allowed near to comfort her. Fuck you Goodall, you piece of shit.
We would not have “wiped out” our teaching staff, come on. Most of those same staff caught Covid during one of the waves, while schools were closed, pre-vax and were perfectly fine.
Always love a good singalong before a gig. Me & Mr C @jamescurran.bsky.social & 2,200 others singing along to The Stone Roses before The Cheap Thrills came on stage. Gig life is the best life!
Honestly, I’m professionally embarrassed we’re still calling for action on road safety. There’s evidence of progress but it’s slow, and nowhere near ambitious enough. Meanwhile, people keep dying needlessly. That’s why I’m running for Brake. More on why 👇 www.northants.police.uk/news/northan...
Andy Cox takes on 200km challenge for road safety charity Brake
Andy Cox is nearing the halfway point of a gruelling 200km running challenge to raise awareness of road danger and support the road safety charity, Brake.

If you can, maybe chuck your local Food Bank a tenner today eh...
Pretty remarkable how often the free speech warriors of Reform are now running to the police to report people for hurty words
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
This was posted a few days ago but I think it needs more traction. If you cook with gas and have asthma - read this and think about going electric.
Insane new research. Scientists gave asthma patients free electric stoves to replace their gas stoves, then checked to see if symptoms improved. Not only did symptoms improve, ditching gas was *better than medicine.* Details in today's newsletter: www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/electric-s...
#WillCycle #Throwback: 12 months – 12 commutes This challenge is aimed at people who don't cycle commute, and the principle is very simple: commute to work at least once per month, every month. Habits Science tells us... https://www.willcycle.com/adventure/12-months-12-commutes/
“Have you checked the copy for the Enterprise display ad?” “Didn’t need to, it’s the same every week” [one day later] “Oh”
We should normalise "like selling coffee/cake/donuts to cyclists" as an idiom for something that's absolutely piss easy because for one thing it's true but also it might embarrass business owners into not blaming their failure on bike lanes when it's usually because their coffee tastes like ass.
After 17 and a half years today is my last day working in the NHS. I've worked under 12 Health secretaries. Every single one made it harder for us to look after patients and pursued an agenda of privatisation and outsourcing. The NHS thrives in spite of, not because of it’s political leadership.
