Every couple weeks Bluesky has a robust debate on whether a trans person with 22 followers being kind of rude means trans people deserve whatever happens to them

What's so wrong with that?" The trans rights message is: "Support us or go fuck yourself you bigoted asshole." Guess which one is more persuasive.
In 2020, not a single state prohibited gender-affirming care for trans youth. 27 states do now, and many clinics in blue states have closed. I cannot convey the scale of the damage. But this didn't happen bc people were pissed off on the internet. We're pissed off on the internet bc it happened.

Then I became disabled. At first I was able to keep working and my healthcare options were reasonably good. When my conditions became more severe and I could no longer work, a doctor “suggested” MAiD. When I refused, treatment options dwindled.
When disabled people oppose Assisted Dying, it’s almost never from a religious point of view. It’s not because we’re anti-choice or that we want to force people to suffer. We oppose it because society devalues disabled lives and uses these programs in an unethical manner. They become eugenics. 🧵
