Recent work from me and colleagues on a model for identifying in real-time when there's a burst of beta oscillations. This method builds on using a state space model of oscillations to track phase (see here: elifesciences.org/articles/68803) and is accepted in IEEE EMBC 2026. #neuroskyence 1/10

2/5 We studied sources of biophysical realism that have classically been viewed as "breaking" idealized in silico Pyramidal Interneuron Network Gamma rhythms. But these changes ALSO create transient gamma events that more closely mirror the in vivo reality of gamma activity!

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
