The midterms will be brutal for the GOP, and deservedly so. Democrats retaking the House is likely now and the Senate is even a possibility. The key issue for Democrats now is setting up expectations for aggressive oversight and reform when they retake Congress. Set the bar now and claim a mandate.
As we've noted before, there's not a whole lot more room for Trump to fall here. But this means his base has been whittled down to the hardcore of the MAGA cult. And that, in turn, will likely keep him locked in on the policies MAGA likes but everyone else hates.

I don’t want to deal with the milk rn, so now to make egg drop soup from the leftover vegetables and tofu that seem fine. Already had to chuck a couple things from the fridge, ugh. Probably would be safer to simply throw out everything, but that feels far too wasteful.
Power finally came back on. Which means making bread pudding to use up all the eggs and milk. At least I get one nice thing out of it. Now to check the freezer to make sure nothing melted.

God knows I'm not a big fan of private health insurance, but like the reason those companies exist is that, as a society, we have made a bunch of choices that created the conditions for them to exist We could, and should, make different choices! But that would be a major and difficult undertaking
I do feel that the insurance company aspect was the defining difference, but I’m looking at it from a history/sociology lens more than a pure ethics one. When the situation becomes entirely intolerable for people, you get the french revolution, and for now things have been tamer than that.
