Saoirse is in an afterschool program, and today she excitedly told me all about the SMART test for evaluating the credibility of information (source, motivation, author, review, two-sources). I can think of a lot of adults who would benefit from this class designed for 4th and 5th graders.

I feel like if you are in a public entity that is supported by user dollars, you need to be very conscious of how much people would care if you and your function would be eliminated.

I need everyone to understand that any medication for the brain is critical. Antidepressants, anticonvulsants, ADHD medication, migraine preventives, you name it it's as important as heart medication.
Remember when something being a public good was reason enough for its continued existence and funding? (Yes this is about the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences Museum, but also about the postal system, public libraries, and everything else that's been closed because it didn't make money.)
