I believe someone posted some helpful links for students sitting ESAT, but can't find them now. Anyone have some suggestions?-- asking as a parent, not a teacher (for a change!) Thanks

One of the things I want to improve with as an #ALevelMaths teacher is my knowledge of #physics in order to teach mechanics without just saying "it's magic, right?!" Any recommendations of introductory books/texts for this?
Morning all. There is an account called "Rob Southern fan" using a picture of Jack Brown as it's profile pic that's reposting and commenting on lots of my posts. I've blocked the account and would appreciate you doing the same. 🙂
#MathsToday Core maths teachers where do you get your lesson resources from, hit me with the best places. Also, where do you send your students to revise CM? Are there any particular websites to direct them to?
I've been playing with the @desmos.com notebook tool over the past few days. Here's one with parametric trig equations. Suggestions welcome. www.desmos.com/notebook/xf0... #iteachmath #mathstoday #mtbos

Saw something recently about AI making an incorrect quadratic graph. Gave me an idea to use AI to create "common sense" check questions. Students often don't check if their answer makes sense. I try to embed this in my teaching, this will help. Started with quadratics #mathstoday shorturl.at/Y7jfq

The more you stare at this, the worse it gets. Going to ask students how many faults they can find with it!
Thought this might be worth a reshare for people having conversations with year 12s about university applications. A spreadsheet of UCAS data by STEM subject (tabs along bottom) showing published entry criteria, most common grade profile and lowest grades of students accepted on to the course. 1/2
I'm already planning for September... a first. My new first-year IB AA SL students will be welcomed back with this task on equations, graphs and gradient. The idea is to tease out how they think as a mathematician and set us up for some work on straight line graphs. #MathsToday
