It's actively insanity inducing to be a survivor and a feminist right now because in the face of the sheer ubiquity of sexual assault and the lack of consequences for it, we're all being besieged by demands that we think of the rapist men, forgive the rapist men, cleanse the souls of the rapist men

A basic fact about how the right operates is that they take attacks on women's rights, trans people, immigrants and racialized people etc. deathly seriously, while many liberals and even many leftists dismiss them as 'distractions' or 'culture issues'. Often due to tacit agreement.

The right-wing organizing around the Lindsay Clancy trial is growing and it’s frightening. A lot of people overlook these culture wars revolving around women’s issues, because, well, they’re women’s issues. But the right doesn’t. It’s how they regained such a massive cultural foothold.

It's post-hoc justification. They want to cut benefits to disabled people so they can get a bigger house. Either that makes them absolute monsters, or all disabled little are scammers and fakers. So, you see, how easy it would be to get a story like this in the paper with those incentives.

This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

So in one week: 1) Reform get stung for dodgy finances, and the regulators play pass the parcel about enforcement 2) Farage announces plans to largely dismantle independent scrutiny of govt, and barely any press discussion of it 3) Masked thugs blockade a port, with narry a word from senior govt

In the western world reading books is woke, feminine, and gay, which is why most men don't read, but for some reason books still have to center men or no one will read them at all

motoko: i can't jump in for this mission, batou, i'm about to have a whole lesbian cyber orgy. batou: [listening to the khz shifts in the background of the call] batou: batou: no you're not. motoko: hey- batou: you've got one basic PC rig running. you're posting on forums. motoko: HEY.

its been over a year since it came out and I can finally say it: I hate that TV man so much. that I decided to kill him, with Attack and Rude Buster. Awful. Awful man.

Alex Massie conjured up a figure of aroudn 450 trans women convicted rapists over the space of a decade in a piece he did for the Times and got away with it despite that number being larger than the total number of trans women in the British prison system altogether (most of them not for rape).

The major story of the last decade is the resurgence of overt racist hatred and fascism, on a specific platform of removing the civil rights of citizens, and deporting them where possible. The British press has - at best - used this opportunity to hammer the fuck out of everyone it’s always despised

It's open season in the press again and that's fine, I guess. But press freedom remains a vital thing and it needs to be defended.
