I’ve been hearing so much anger and disappointment from frontline workers about the BBC investigation into fraudulent asylum claims. One of the most damning responses has come from one of the experts they interviewed, solicitor Ana Gonzalez. It’s really worth reading her response in full:

Today, MSF is going public with something we've been fighting behind closed doors for months: Gilead will not sell us their new HIV drug, lenacapavir. The sticking point isn't even price, they just refuse to sell. Open letter linked + explainer 🧵1/ www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/gilea...

Oh boy! What a headline... Ask yourself: "What am I being asked to believe?" "Who am I being told to blame?" Take a few seconds to imagine what the Daily Mail (And Telegraph, GB News and Express) WANT you to think is going on. Let's see what's ACTUALLY happening...🧵 1/21
How does Benjamin Ryan think therapy works? Here he’s challenging @michaelhobbes.bsky.social claim that therapists know the difference between gay kids and kids who are trans. How do therapists know a kid is depressed other than “trusting the kid?”

It seems all Kansas-issued trans drivers' licenses are invalid, effective tomorrow It is now illegal for trans people to drive a car until they surrender their license at a DMV (that most will need to drive to) and have it reissued with the wrong gender marker This was never about woman's sports
Kansas Sends Letters To Trans People Demanding The Immediate Surrender Of Drivers Licenses

Many news outlets are reporting that some trans Kansans received letters warning that their licenses were being invalidated overnight. This morning, Evan Urquhart spoke with a trans woman who found out on Bluesky that it would be illegal to drive her car. www.assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

London’s “worst mass eviction in recent history” is underway; hundreds of households across London told to get out of their homes this week by the same landlord, ahead of the renters rights act. The landlord? Billionaire Asif Aziz’s Criterion Capital. www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...
Who's the billionaire behind London’s biggest mass eviction?
He's the London philanthropist who says he's committed to solving homelessness. So why is Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital rushing to make hundreds of Londoners homeless in the coming weeks?

The UK government is proposing radical and punitive changes to settlement rules. This is settlement, not citizenship. The consultation is open until 12 February; please respond to it and oppose these evil proposals. Amnesty have a good guide: www.amnesty.org.uk/resources/gu...

Can't stop laughing at Keir Starmer's defence being "I asked the Prince of Darkness 'are you telling me the truth?' and he said 'yes' and now I have discovered that I was LIED to by the Prince of Darkness! The Prince of Darkness LIED to me!"

Here's a regular white guy (literally "Chad") not a protester. because, "It seemed pointless, or just a way for people to expiate their sense of guilt." Chad witnessed something shattering. And, that all changed in a moment. Excellent article!
The Atlantic Magazine just dropped a tremendous story on the Minnesota Resistance. The author is a war correspondent & sees the echoes of leaderless community empowerment around the globe: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202... (supposed to be a gift link, might not work, it’s in Apple News, too.)
I posted a @zoebread.bsky.social video yesterday to underline the rot of the Labour party control of Manchester yesterday and I'm posting another today. Fuck Andy Burnham, and Labour collectively.
Transphobes will never be content with excluding trans people from public life, they demand that everyone hate us as much as they do, that everyone should be elated by our absence and furious at our presence. They are utterly obsessed with us.
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

The government want more coercive powers for the state against protests, and the main opposition party wants more coercive powers for the state against migrants. Our political-media culture continues in a loop where the response to every perceived problem is yet more coercive powers for the state.
And why call it 'golden ticket'? Disgraceful language. These people have lost everything. Should they also lose their spouses and children? A reminder that last year 4,671 family reunion visas were granted. 4,671. Does anyone think this number is a major problem for the UK economy and society?
People recognised as refugees fleeing persecution & granted the right to live in the UK to be denied the right to be joined safely by their spouse & children. This Labour govt is a moral void, a stinking darkness, an empty hollow of cowardice & contempt. #r4today www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
Sure, why not? They've already betrayed their voters, members and values, they might as well betray their very name as well.
Labour considering charging workers for employment tribunal claims, sources say
Boris Johnson says these are just common sense and reasonable statements
We don’t yet know who killed Kirk or why. Not that you’d know it from the endless numbers of accounts on X with huge follower numbers, including British politicians, making as yet unknowable claims about the motivations behind the murder. Exhibit A. Extraordinary stuff.
Long thread: There are two main "defences" I see put forward of Labour which crop up: 1) If you don't vote for Labour you'll get Reform 2) It's all the fault of right wing media painting Labour in a bad light. The thing is that neither of these are actually a defence of what Labour is doing. 1/23
The framing here is so catastrophically disingenuous. Linehan, for those who aren't familiar with this specific instance, publicly advocated violently assaulting trans women. To portray this as "transgender issues" is, frankly, contemptible. Fuck the Guardian and their "respectable" bigotry.
To reiterate; This is how the Guardian describes a tweet that advocates assaulting trans women; “Posts on transgender issues”
