The biggest fallacy out there is that art can't be learned. The notion that it's gatekept away because some people are born with ability and some people aren't. No. It's a skill. You improve it. The Mona Lisa wasn't 101 art. He worked on plenty of shit to get there.

I liked it as a kid too. But people always do all this throat clearing about what a singular work of children’s literature it is on an art level when we talk about this and I just don’t think we have to at all

will never not be funny to me how harry potter was venerated for getting a generation of kids into reading when really it just got them into harry potter

2024, my boyfriend and I talking about his sister's photo of the dinner she made: lmao she can't cook 2025, my fiance and I talking about his sister's photo of the dinner she made: lmao she can't cook 2026, my husband and I talking about my SIL's photo of the dinner she made: OH NO HOW DO I HELP HER

If you grew up in the smallest, ruralest, whitest, and middlest areas of small rural white middle America, especially if you’ve got just enough brown in you for them to notice, then you know exactly who those fucking people are. You also know they’d break immediately from the smallest inconvenience

there is in fact a group of people that genuinely only understand force, and they’re the rich white MAGAs who constantly jerk off in public about how everybody they hate “only understands force”

watching my wife try to hire someone to work under her this week has been wild- like 98% of all resumes aren't even real candidates and come from fraud farms trying to use AI to scam a paycheque to a fake candidate, we have officially hit a point where the biggest global growth industry is fraud

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
