Congratulations to Devin Clegg from the Ferguson Lab on his work determining how PIKfyve inhibition leads to LRRK2 activation at lysosomes! @shawnferguson.bsky.social

Journal of Cell Biology@jcb.org · 4d ago

Clegg, @shawnferguson.bsky.social et al. @yalecellbiology.bsky.social show that LRRK2 integrates distinct lysosomal stress signals through stimulus-specific combinations of interactions with Rab GTPases and GABARAP. rupress.org/jcb/article/... #Lysosomes #CellSignaling #Disease #Organelles

Two new articles from the Reinisch lab @yalecellbiology.bsky.social and De Camilli lab @yaleneuro.bsky.social provide the first complete molecular characterization of VPS13A and C, two proteins involved in neurodegenerative diseases, and show that they can exist in active and inactive states.

New Insights into Proteins Linked to Neurodegeneration

Mutations in VPS13 proteins are associated with neurodegenerative conditions like Parkinson’s disease. New findings could point to therapeutic avenues.

Congratulations to @dazhi-li.bsky.social and members of the Reinisch and De Camilli groups @pdc-lab.bsky.social on their recent work on the structure of Bridge-like lipid transfer protein VPS13C!

Dazhi Li@dazhi-li.bsky.social · 4mo ago

Excited to see this study, in collaboration with the De Camilli group @pdc-lab.bsky.social, published in its final format! We resolved the structure of VPS13C and found that it adopts a lipid-transfer-incompetent conformation. We also show that CaM binds VPS13s and may help regulate their function.

Exciting new work from Xiaolei Su’s lab showing how engineering chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) with intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) increases the efficacy of CAR-T cell cytotoxicity against cancer cells!

Gene Chong@chongg.bsky.social · last yr.

The fusion of intrinsically disordered regions to CARs enhances CAR-T signaling by inducing CAR condensation and enhances CAR sensitivity to low-antigen-expressing cancer cells www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Interested in metabolism? So are we! My lab has been exploring the cell biology of energy metabolism in the nervous system, and we are looking for postdocs. Cool sensors and microscopy, great work environment. Please help me spread the word!
