Someone could write a book about this. White people are pretty clueless about non-white prejudice against other non-whites. The Trump team seems to have kind of lucked into exploiting those prejudices accidentally.

This time with less snark: basically nothing I've ever said negative about DSA applies to the SMC, and contrarywise about anything positive I've said about DSA (though not exclusively SMC) If you want the decent people at DSA to succeed, might I suggest ๐Ÿ‘‡

And if you're a new member or an existing one, vote SMC. We have a world to win, and we don't have time for sectarian nonsense or infiltration by reactionary cranks who own dressage horses and hate the poor.

AOC: "What the Trump administration is doing in targeting trans people is to get everyone on board with supporting defunding their own civil rights ... understand that when they attack trans girls in sports, they're also attacking all women's ability to stand up against their abusers"

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

Alt National Park Service: After our last post, weโ€™ve heard from people reporting voting machine issues in South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee. We havenโ€™t independently verified these accounts. We also read Stella Partonโ€™s account of having to correct her selection before casting her ballot in Tennessee.

If you experienced a problem, please share your firsthand account in the comments below.

The thing about America that people donโ€™t realize is that โ€˜small governmentโ€™ often results in a really bloated public sector in a lot of ways, because you have a million little jurisdictions. And many of them employ men with guns (tho a lot are just security guards that can arrest you).

"No, no, it's good for left wing politicians to use 'cuck' as an insult" Again, the most important thing to know about dirtbag leftists isn't that they're leftists it's that they're dirtbags. Don't support dirtbags.

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. Itโ€™s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

"Democrats traded their younger donors for squeezed seniors," showing the share of the partyโ€™s small-dollar donations (under $200) from 2012 to 2026. The subtitle reads: "In 2026, about 175,000 squeezed seniors โ€” donors 65 and older charged 50 or more times in a cycle โ€” supplied 51% of those donations. Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z, roughly 63% of registered Democrats, supplied 15%."
Two lines track donation shares from 2012 to 2026:
"Squeezed seniors" (orange line) starts around 9% in 2012, rises to 30% in 2018 and 2020, then jumps sharply to 45% in 2022, 47% in 2024, and 51% in 2026.
"Gen X, Millennials & Gen Z" (green line) starts around 17% in 2012, peaks around 33% in 2020, and then drops sharply to 18% in 2022, 19% in 2024, and 15% in 2026.
A vertical dashed line at April 2021 is labeled: "The Supreme Court (Facebook v. Duguid) clears the way for mass fundraising texts, piled on top of the email spam already flooding inboxes."
Footnote: "Shares are by number of donations. By dollars, squeezed seniors gave 39% of small-dollar money in 2026 and Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z gave 18%. Squeezed seniors are donors 65 and older charged 50 or more times in an election cycle. 2026 is mid-cycle.

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

Where your $100 donation actually goes
Of every $100 raised by a Democratic fundraising text, $73 goes to consultants and vendors. Only $13 reaches voters as advertising โ€” the most expensive dollar to raise in American politics.

22. TX Congressman Greg Casar said โ€œour committees need to be doing oversight both into the Trump administration, but I think even more importantly or equally importantly, into the corporations and ultrarich people who have tried to corrupt our government. And, of course, Elon Musk is on that list.โ€

The article notes that the guy won't vote for Byron Donalds because he "has been dismissive of younger voters." It does not note he is a Fishback supporter. And if you know anything about Fishback, its reasonable to infer his opposition to Donalds might be for other reasons (you know the ones).

imo autolinkers should never use the list of TLDs when deciding whether to something a link. it changes over time (remember the disaster that was .zip?), and users don't know 99% of them anyway. to a normal person, the fact that "this.is" autolinks while "this.of" does not, is totally absurd.

"<word>.<word>" by itself should NEVER EVER automatically become a link. this can direct tons of people to malicious websites that squat common typos and filenames. a valid and intentionally-posted link will always have at least one slash in it. "example.com/..." or "http://example.com" etc.
