Hear me out ... There should be a feature on your cell phone where you can just yell, "PHONE" and the phone replies, "I'm over here." Same for tv remotes and key fobs.

anyway, I hope people enjoy deadly, generational crash courses on why regulators you took for granted are important and how everybody employed at a libertarian free market think tank should be sentenced to hard labor community service for a decade
other self defense courses teach you how to fight like a karate master or a boxer but only rax's teaches you how to fight like what you are, a crazy little bitch who no one's ever gonna fuck with again
Congress and Trump stripped away federal protections for the Boundary Waters. Walz just threw up a massive state-level roadblock in their way. Thank you, Gov. Walz, for fighting to protect one of America’s most incredible wild places!

I hope this future happens. I've thought about making public health my second-act career but been too afraid to subject myself to that torture under the current state of affairs.
One of the knock on effects we would get if the government had to (and understood it really had to) pay for medical care is that we would actually take a shitload more public health seriously.
Sitting in the hospital lobby enjoying the fact that I don't HAVE to be here, because my follow-up mammogram was just fine. 🙏🏻 The light and the vibe is really good here. Oddly.
Writing an article or essay is so fucking easy. If it is hard for you or you dread it enough to use AI I suggest you remove from your to-do list “writing articles and essays.” I do not, for example, enter golf tourneys or work at a mechanic’s shop because I am not good at those and don’t like them.
First, this whole story is completely crazy. Trump wants to redesign already in production new class of aircraft carriers so they look more like the ones from WW2. Let's put a pin that absolute insanity. But there's an aspect of this that if anything this .. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Navy weighs major warship redesign to match Trump’s preferences
The president wants the new fleet of aircraft carriers to more resemble those from World War II. Such a change could cost billions.

If my death involves anything called "Dipsy Doodle," please do not publish an obituary for me.
Interesting thing about our current era of total mask-off bigotry among politicians and the elite class: by doing so, they’ve almost totally obliterated the little fig-leaf of plausible public deniabiity about how they can’t *really* be *that* bigoted that they used to rely upon.
We're at the point where we're using LLMs to create content and LLMs to review content and then LLMs to integrate the LLM's review feedback (this could of course go on literally forever as it constantly reviews and contradicts itself. I've seen it!) and I'm just not sure what anyone is doing anymore

Your daily affirmation: You are the only you that will ever exist, so it's nearly impossible to screw this up. You're already the best and worst version of yourself that will ever be.
"Bluesky is dying" is amateur shit. My good bitches, I was here when the feed would run out. You'd read like 20 skeets and that was it, no more skeets for you, you had to wait an hour for enough to scroll through again because there weren't enough people here to fill a mid-sized sports stadium.
Brass instruments were not covered in Project 2025, so I'm actually surprised by this one.

magic lamps have the same problem iirc
the problem with frontier models is that in the current model of interaction they could be capable of incredible feats but if the user doesn't or can't think to ask the incredible, they won't get it. the models will NOT proactively deliver anything they are not explicitly prompted to deliver.
We've gotten away from calling people rat bastard and I believe this is a grave mistake
The Wachowski sisters didn't use 120 cameras to film one shot just so you could tell me that AI is "inevitable."
Peter Jackson didn't meticulously design every set piece and costume in the Lord of the Rings trilogy just so you could tell me that AI is "inevitable".
