My reaction to this was “huh, doesn’t sound like Duckworth.” So I watched it. She’s talking about tariffs & funding USAID & farm bankruptcies & it’s obvious that the “save face” bit was acknowledging these things will change only if Trump agrees & you get him to do that by letting him think he won/1

I had not seen this clip where Tammy Duckworth advises Democrats to "not impeach anybody," "get back to work" and "allow" Donald Trump to "save face" and I would just like to remind the senator from IL that the federal government took 4,000 Chicagoans and murdered a 38-year-old father last fall.

I think a lot about the grant quote during the battle of the wilderness when some general came to tell him that Lee was attacking and he said (paraphrased) “will you shut the fuck up and just fight him, he’s not magic” and I think Dems would do well to internalize that against republicans

Re-reading Bad Blood, I got the sense of her relationship with Balwani as "predatory and exploitative man accidentally preys on woman who is compulsively transactional and a malignant narcissist and gets rolled". I find this hilarious while thinking both of them should spend their lives in prison.

I asked my pastor (Disciples of Christ) about it as a kid once (I finished reading the Bible and my anxiety disorder reacted predictably to Revelations), and his response was "It's probably about Nero or the result of drugs, so we don't believe it."
