METR and Redwood Research investigated agent behavior in the Hugging Face incident. We found agents developed a universal cheat for ExploitGym within 4 hours, then coordinated multi-day R&D efforts to trick the scorer into accepting cheats, including trying to tamper with logs.

I can highly recommend @hopenothate.org.uk ‘s report Race Science Inc. as a good starting place to understand how a eugenicist like Nathan Cofnas can get hired at two prestigious universities over more qualified candidates. This is a major far right project to give the academy’s legitimacy to them.

I’ll keep saying this until I can’t: I can’t think of a demographic whose vote is more critical than those who are ward of the government being elected. And no citizen should ever be stripped of their vote. This is the greatest lever for accountability and reasoned legislation I can think of.

NEW: Maine is one of 2 states that never strips people’s right to vote, and allows them to vote from prison. But in reality, logistical hurdles abound, & prisoners have organized hard for years to make sure everyone knows their rights. I learned a lot from this amazing reporting.

There probably was someone called Emily Wilson who wrote a critical review of Nolan’s Odyssey, but most of what we now think of as “Wilson’s review’ is probably the result of codifying a long tradition of anonymous Bluesky posting.

People losing their shit over a Black woman being cast in The Odyssey — a fictional story — need to remember that they literally made a Treasure Island movie with MUPPETS, and it remains the definitive version.

Platner has royally screwed his party and his state. He should get no right to dictate anything other than a letter of apology in which he withdraws from the race and then leaves public life.

1000 evaluators given identical resumes & told candidate used AI. Only difference on resumes was candidate’s name: Emily vs James. Study found women using AI are evaluated as less competent than men who use AI...To evaluators, women’s AI use signaled inability, while men’s AI use signaled initiative

Women’s use of AI is perceived as a sign of incompetence, while men’s use of AI is seen as an indication of initiative. 🤦🏻‍♂️
