There was never broad and deep support for Israel in the US. There was broad and shallow support. Nobody cared or paid much attention. Just, "Sure, I support Israel." People were forced to care and pay attention, and there is now broad and deep animosity towards Israel.

Enten on the 67 point swing (!!!) against Israel among Americans: "We're not just talking about the Democratic base anymore. The general electorate has turned against Israel. This is not just a left issue. It's an American issue. The trend line is unbelievable."

There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing

Why has DSA grown? One argument from this research: not just ideology, but organization. Strong membership plus ongoing and continuous participation in social movements creates credibility, committed volunteers, political skills, and durable electoral capacity. www.niskanencenter.org/inside-the-d...

Between this and the discovery that solar panel shade can actually _increase_ certain crop yields, people are discovering that there are truly extraordinary opportunities to make better use of the earth's surface area with solar panels. There's so much power waiting to be harnessed!

A Chilean salmon farm now draws about 57% of its power from panels laid over the water, cutting roughly 136,000 litres of diesel a year and silencing the generators. With the noise gone, thousands of salmon have gathered in the shade beneath the arrays. Ecoportal buff.ly/CwczkbP #ShareGoodNewsToo

People always flip out over these things, but 2 years out, this is not a real poll at this stage. This is just "name a Democrat." These polls will be drastically different a year from now, after candidates declare and the race starts, when they will also still be worthless.

2028 Democratic Presidential Primary Kamala Harris has regained a solid lead over the anticipated 2028 Democratic field. 7/21 Polling Average (change since 1/1) 🔵 Harris: 30.1% (+9.0) 🟠 Newsom: 17.3% (-6.8) 🟡 Buttigieg: 10.9% (+0.2) 🟣 Ocasio-Cortez: 9.8% (+1.6)

I think there's some advancement on the Iron Law of Institutions, where Trump is willing to sacrifice American power and many global institutions in order to consolidate and increase his power in smaller spaces, like in Latin America and Venezuela, specifically.

The "international rules-based order" that gave America oversight and control over the world's militaries, finances, trade, and communications was *always* a better deal for America than it was for the rest of the world. 5/

You wouldn't be a former Republican/Never Trumper if you had a clue what it took to win against MAGA. You'd still be a Republican. You're here because you're losers and outcasts in your own party. This is not your house. You are a guest.

I heard the cat making pre puke sounds. I sprinted across the living room and grabbed the cat, then sprinted to the kitchen with her so she puked on the tile. I deserve a medal for how fast I am when I hear a puking cat

The primary governing philosophy of Trump II is "actually, the experts are wrong and crime is the best way to do things." It's the same in the "Department of War," MAHA, Energy, Education, Tech, DOGE, etc. There's this idea that the way to success was made illegal by a liberal establishment.

It's also not a 30/70 situation, where the 70% of the population who doesn't hold these views all hold opposing views. Social conservatism is less popular than social liberalism. You can't distance yourself from left wing positions without stepping in shit.

Not to keep repeating myself as infinitum but the fatal flaw with Mattyism is that he believes that the cultural divide he keeps complaining about is because of a few radical woke activists who can be defunded, instead of the beliefs of 30% or so of the country.
