The universe started revolving too much around The Doctor around the start of the SteMo era, & it was a gradual downward trajectory from there. Chibnall or RTD2.0 could have course-corrected, but both made it worse instead. IMO what was so cool about Classic Who was that he was kinda Just Some Guy™️

I don't want to point any fingers but I do actually and a big chunk of this is your fault mate. Jesus Christ.

'Obviously It's Hugely Disappointing': Doctor Who Ex-Showrunner Says That Solving The Show's 'Knotty Problems' Will Take 'Time'

10 hours ago — Solving the "problems" currently plaguing Doctor Who will take time, the series' former showrunner Chris Chibnall has cautioned

Using a chatbot to find papers is biased to serve you the ones that people cherry pick rather than a comprehensive view of the overall body of evidence. It's a sample poisoned with bias and by using it to find sources for content you are poisoning that content with the same collective bias.

If I'm ever in a situation where it's absolutely necessary to refer to someone's AGAB, best believe I'm referring to it in the past tense. They're not habitually getting born and assigned a gender at birth on a regular basis, it's a thing that happened once.

there's plenty of restaurants in this town, but the owner of the sandwich shop downtown hates me, says he's gonna kill me, and has a sign up on the wall saying that 5 cents out of every sandwich order will go towards buying bullets to shoot me with.

I was day sleeping at 2pm. I have an old second-hand phone by my PC that does some automatic cloud stuff, & another old phone that I use around the house when my phone-phone is on charge. None of my 3 phones had airplane mode enabled 😵‍💫

#BREAKING 🚨 Labor in their draft 2026 platform have replaced their previous statement of belief 'that there should not be poverty in a country like Australia' with a 'recognition' the social security system should support 'better health and wellbeing'.

A fair social security system

91. Labor believes in a strong, adequate and fair social safety net and that there should not be poverty in a country like Australia. Labor is committed to a social security system that keeps people out of poverty, whether they are unemployed, working age, escaping family or domestic violence or in retirement.A fair social security system

90. Labor recognises that a strong social security system supports not only economic security but also better health and wellbeing, and that when people have the means to meet their basic needs and make choices about their lives they experience stronger social and health outcomes.

ALP conference somehow even more sauceless than everyone thought it would be this year. Not you, internet smart guy. You already knew it would be bad. I mean even among attendees who had properly calibrated their expectations to 'zero'.

If you are a @theguardian.com reader you wouldn’t know that the largest ever gathering of trans people in history yesterday was protesting against the Burnham government’s transphobic hate-policies. It had an article about making an omelette though.

'I panic. It turns to rubber': could I learn to make omurice, the 'world's hardest omelette?

150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.

Okay, the thing? The thing in poverty where even if you have the money spending it doesn’t ever feel good because you don’t know when you’ll have money again? That, but for intimacy

the nostalgia diner industry should have aged past the 50s. I should be able to go to an era-accurate 90s diner, served a room temp Fruitopia by staff in babydoll dresses, there should be a Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition machine against the wall. They could sell Desert Storm trading cards.

Libs on this website really will just go "yeah I'm keeping a bunch of homophobic, transphobic and racist insults chambered at all times BUT!! I'm only deploying them against straight white cis guys who do bad things, so don't worry, I'm a good person."

my grandfather, a coal mine manager, in the 80's: "its awful business digging for that stuff, in an ideal world no one would have to do it" mine managers and their employees in 2025: "retraining us in an industry that won't give us lung cancer is an evil communist scheme to take our freedoms"
