I am excited to announce the latest paper from our lab, published in Science ! In this study, we show that thalamocortical-like circuits in the zebrafish brain process sensory information hierarchically across topographically organized forebrain circuits.

A standardized and reproducible behavioral framework to elicit multiple aspects of visual spatial attention in mice

We developed DANT to match units from the same neurons from chronic Neuropixels recordings. The key idea: cluster units with similar waveforms and firing statistics, then iteratively refine matching and drift correction. We tested it in rat cortex and striatum during reaction-time behavior.

We had a lot of fun doing these experiments! Theta sweeps in MEC and internal direction signals in parasubiculum track moving objects during pursuit and reverse during backward movement. Simultaneously recorded HD cells in other areas remain locked to head direction across behaviors:
