I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"
I think it's more a case of a market for lemons; online shopping created an economy in which people are only prepared to pay the lowest prices because they suspect they will only be shipped the lowest quality goods.

And it turns out that what people really want is cheap disposable goods, not more expensive but higher quality stuff that lasts a long time.
This is legit insane. It requires girls from K-12 to go through genetic testing, testosterone screening, or a physical exam to participate in sports. For feminists worked up about trans athletes, this is the through line. This is where we were going to end up. It’s about control and dominance.

Trying to buy a new car and dealers don’t seem to be dealing anymore? Is this what others have found? I usually use carmax, so it’s been awhile. They still make you wait while they “talk to their manager” though.
One wonders how we can have a system where there are some wonderboys who publish 7 papers a year in top-10 journals and also this is like the median journal experience for most of us

In FY 2026, the U.S. has admitted a total of 7,727 white South Africans, three Afghans (back in November), and nobody else. For reference, the U.S. admitted 100,060 refugees in 2024.

The U.S. might have lost the World Cup but Seattle definitely won! For a few hours the streets of Downtown Seattle enjoyed the chaotic energy and vitality of Manhattan with crowds, joy, food, diversity, music, sunshine, and camaraderie. It's glorious and feels like we are destined for great things.

OK, rant incoming. I’m on a pet-friendly flight for the first time. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m an animal lover but I think it’s absolutely disgusting there are pets onboard this aircraft and I am seated rows apart from them and can’t even have a little peek.
