"Being trans is sad Being trans is horrid." Shut up. Being trans is great. Look. I've got inner peace and a fucking scythe.
Today at the convent: the nuns have been teaching me to scythe.

dunno why i had to stop what i was doing the other day to take a picture of this bowl of ice filled with low fat cheese sticks. i can't say what about it i find so haunting
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
neighborhood watch update: that french guy from ripley believe it or not who ate an airplane is prowling around the cul de sac and the trails by the park. he wrote a threatening letter which we have translated. he says he is going to eat the ford f-150 extended cab pickup truck
I just saw a meme that said “get in losers, we’re reclaiming the emdash”. People. PEOPLE. Where are your STANDARDS? It CLEARLY should be “get in, losers — we’re reclaiming the em dash.”
tell ya what else. these ambitious, upwardly mobile young women need to leave these human drums of corn liquor for girls who will appreciate them. and those girls need to stop going on dates with finance bros just for the story. these are solvable problems
it's not a whole article that young women are dating deadbeat little jerkoffs. that's not a trend. that's just being in your twenties
Tried to explain the difference between an absolute unit and a megachonker to my grandpa and he shot a hole in the floor
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
timeline cleanse: franky watches the garbage truck pick up the trash this morning
Anyway, Wendy Carlos is still alive and that's wonderful 💜
To be a historian is to speak ill of the dead and the rest of you should take more history classes and join us.
speaking generally, I think the no. 1 thing you can do as a cis ally is help a trans woman get a job
guy on a bike called out to me ‘you look so beautiful!’ and i was steeling myself for it to get weird but then he called to a guy on a different bike ‘that’s a great bike man!’ and then ‘smoothie looks fire!’ to a third guy who was drinking one. so i guess i found him. Johnny Compliments
I am frustrated, as usual, especially in this space, by the uncritical amplifying of this “IA vs the bad guys” rhetoric that collapses all the many ways ephemerality, CONSENT, and open access are in conflict with each other in this instance and most others, when it comes to web preservation.
i fear we have no choice but to fill the reflecting pool with beans
The goal was to show the state of scholarly literature about trans and gender diverse people in libraries, highlighting gaps and serving as a foundation for future work on the topic. Much of the Editorial Board's impetus to start Murmurations comes from their findings in this literature review.
I'm super excited about this new journal, please check it out if you're a library person, a trans or gender diverse person, or possibly both ❤️
For our first article, we are republishing Keahi Adolpho and Stephen Krueger's "Decistifying Trans and Gender Diverse Inclusion in Library Work: A Literature Review," originally published in In the Library with the Lead Pipe, 2024. murmurations.space/2026/06/15/d...
there should be one giant car that covers the whole world so nobody ever has to drive anywhere again, you just switch seats. i'm thinkin something sensible like a prius
everyone should read this nuanced, rigorously reported story by my very talented INDY colleague @ccourtneybohl.bsky.social — a portrait of Outlanders, North Carolina’s first self-governing homeless encampment.
Inside Outlanders, Raleigh’s Self-Governed Homeless Community
Outlanders has a mayor, a charter, and a tight-knit community. As Raleigh pushes to end unsheltered homelessness, the camp could serve as a model for helping people get back on their feet—or be cleare...

Okay I guess the “just asking questions” brigade is here 🙄 so fine: 1. Yes, Miga has an email job 2. Yes, she is incredibly bad at it, due to she is a dog
Will you please be quiet? She’s working
Great thread. Community means friends. Understanding. Equality. Charity preserves status and distance. Writing a check is better than not, but forming community builds lasting bridges
I have a bunch of thoughts about bouncy houses and the left based on many years in early childhood and family/community outreach work but my main one is about means testing and perceived politeness. There are loads of people who are pro bouncy houses and backpack giveaways but for other people.
We probably attend 2-3 community meals a month. It rocks. We usually bring something but not always. To have needs is to be human. To let other people meet them every now and then is to be a community. And then it's one giant inflatable assisted leap to solidarity and eventually power.
