I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

neighborhood watch update: that french guy from ripley believe it or not who ate an airplane is prowling around the cul de sac and the trails by the park. he wrote a threatening letter which we have translated. he says he is going to eat the ford f-150 extended cab pickup truck

I just saw a meme that said “get in losers, we’re reclaiming the emdash”. People. PEOPLE. Where are your STANDARDS? It CLEARLY should be “get in, losers — we’re reclaiming the em dash.”

tell ya what else. these ambitious, upwardly mobile young women need to leave these human drums of corn liquor for girls who will appreciate them. and those girls need to stop going on dates with finance bros just for the story. these are solvable problems

it's not a whole article that young women are dating deadbeat little jerkoffs. that's not a trend. that's just being in your twenties

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

guy on a bike called out to me ‘you look so beautiful!’ and i was steeling myself for it to get weird but then he called to a guy on a different bike ‘that’s a great bike man!’ and then ‘smoothie looks fire!’ to a third guy who was drinking one. so i guess i found him. Johnny Compliments

I am frustrated, as usual, especially in this space, by the uncritical amplifying of this “IA vs the bad guys” rhetoric that collapses all the many ways ephemerality, CONSENT, and open access are in conflict with each other in this instance and most others, when it comes to web preservation.

The goal was to show the state of scholarly literature about trans and gender diverse people in libraries, highlighting gaps and serving as a foundation for future work on the topic. Much of the Editorial Board's impetus to start Murmurations comes from their findings in this literature review.

We probably attend 2-3 community meals a month. It rocks. We usually bring something but not always. To have needs is to be human. To let other people meet them every now and then is to be a community. And then it's one giant inflatable assisted leap to solidarity and eventually power.
