there isn't a problem with the game's industry. there's a problem with every industry and every publicly traded company. getting a "nice CEO who cares" or whatever won't fix anything until things are addressed at a more fundamental societal level. the system will always drive towards this behavior.

If I were in charge of Xbox, I wouldn't begin my campaign to revitalise the brand's image by closing beloved game studios with an incredibly visible and public-facing reputations. It's impossible to fathom the cost on the balance sheet being worth the hit to reputation, morale and retention.

if any Xbox employee from any studio or part of the company want to chat with a reporter about all this, anonymously or otherwise, my email and Signal are in my bio, and I would like to listen. I cannot fathom what everyone must be feeling right now.
