One aspect of living in a personalist form of government is that people no longer expect the laws or norms to protect them. If the king is rumored to be thinking of demolishing a believed institution, people assume they must defend it in person

I’m not so sure Republicans are going to agree that a president has the authority to do all the things that Trump is doing when a Democrat is in the WH. Just a hunch.

The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

Alan Elrod@aselrod.bsky.social · 3d agoNow see when people talk like this I’m led to believe that their issue isn’t so much the committing of genocide (of which both Israel and China are guilty) and rather the presence of Jews. Also, a poor historical understanding of modern China.
It is never enough to condemn wrong actions. There is this intense desire to CHOOSE which bad things are "the worst" and excuse others. Or even ignore those inconvenient bad events which don't align with some global political theory. Campism basically. It undercuts attempts at objectivity.
So the world plans for a future without the US, and part of that is pacifying a noisy toddler, who whilst it sleeps, has no understanding the adults are building a world, where the only place for it, is as a bystander when it wakes and grows up.
I think the skeleton key here is Trump thinks people who buy things are losers and people who sell things are winners because Trump is a guy who sold a lot of bad, fake, stupid shit you shouldn’t buy and on some level understands that but assumes everyone else does this as much as he does.
Their first piece of evidence was our President and Secretary of Defense publicly bragging about committing war crimes.
