I find out what's going around on TikTok by proxy when three people independently ask me what McKamey Manor is. Guess I'm the go-to context person for fucked up shit.

"No mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive, in that corner of time in the world. Whatever it meant." -Hunter S. Thompson But stay with me here I have a whimsical and idiotic point.
The Monroeville Mall is the setting of the zombie classic Dawn of the Dead, and this petition pushes it to become a historical landmark! I signed immediately, as not only its iconic look, but also to preserve a hint of old "mall culture." Give it a look! c.org/VJWBWyH6G6

Millennials having a breakthrough about what has contributed to their trust issues:
There are wonderful, blessed moments when it's late night, everyone else in the house is sleeping, and the leftover chow mein in the fridge feels like the greatest thing to have existed.
Over on threads someone just use ai;dr and we all need to adopt that right quick
I often feel like there's a war going on over my books between the readers who connect with what they are and the people in the publishing industry who think I should make them more shit, dumb & unoriginal so they sell more. I know whose side I'm on, and I know I've never been on it more zealously.
We're flooded with nonstop legislation, but focus attention on the SAVE Act. If passed it will be used to crush leftist voters. Married women would not be able to vote if they took their partner's last name (ID wouldn't match birth certificate). Don't take it for granted; call your senators.
BREAKING: The House passed the so-called SAVE America Act which threatens to upend our freedom to vote. The bill could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters by requiring documents like passports or birth certificates to register to vote and forcing voter roll purges. The Senate must reject it.
I need you to know that you can buy individual crabs from LEGO and they are 21¢ each www.lego.com/en-us/pick-a...
When I went to the DMV site to schedule my license renewal, I was pretty bummed I didn't have to solve a CAPTCHA. That's the one place it would have made sense to have to identify a bunch of stop signs or crosswalks.
Do one of the things that makes you feel better, because if you aren't doing any of that, you will run down. Today I did some writing. I'm a writer, & if I don't write, I run down. It's very easy for me to forget this, despite decades of knowing it. And so I am here to remind you to do your things.
Guess I can’t anger myself to sleep. Ah well it was worth a try.
i hate living in the second act of CABARET. i miss living in the first act of CABARET
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!
Here in the Twin Cities, it feels very different from 2020. After the murder of George Floyd, the enemies were abstractions: institutional racism, police violence - plus we were mad at the kids looting the post office. Today, the enemy is clear: ICE is the enemy. The goal: Get ICE out.
There's also been a shift in character in activism. In Trump's first term, the big actions were symbolic protests designed to make a narrative impact. In Trump's second term, we are seeing actions designed to practically frustrate an authoritarian crackdown on civil liberties.
so many clergy coming to protest ICE that they're overflowing the airport sidewalk we are going to win
The clergy just keep coming to this anti-ICE protest. Genuinely unclear where they all will go — it’s packed outside on the sidewalk already.

You don’t know your role yet maybe, but we are all finding out just what we have to offer. In Minneapolis, one man knew immediately what he could offer and said “Bring me your clothing”.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
Happy holidays! Probably my favorite stop-motion from the past few years. Really enjoyed creating this one.
I hate that every week there's something stupid like an Everyone Has To Drink Pee Now Bill and the alert sounds to CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES THIS IS NOT A DRILL and you really wish you could just trust them to not go for the pee drinking bill
