Fundamentally the conceit of capitalism is “any job that isn’t ownership of capital should hurt and be bad.” Without the fear of homelessness and starvation, people wouldn’t put up with the unreasonable demands of capital.

I can solve this mystery: conservatives don’t actually believe that every job deserves comfort, dignity, and safety because they genuinely believe that society should have a slave class. They won’t say it like that, but functionally they believe that slavery makes for a better society

There was an episode of Batman:TAS when Conroy does this in two successive lines, in response to Bruce getting a call about something that obviously needed a Bat-intervention. He responded to the call as Bruce, hung up, and immediately delivered a Batman line. The transition was _obvious_.

What gets me is the woman who wasn’t able to finish her degree. The one who isn’t sure if she can. The one who started a stable job and had to leave because of this behavior. How many brilliant women are stifled by the men coddled by their institutions?

Theoden's final vet visit and cremation was a big chunk of change for me, and losing him, plus Ad Astra's webshop being down for most of August, means the budget hole is larger than I expected. I miss my fuzzy orange fellow. A lot.

We need to talk about Dyson Sphere Project. Yes, it's very interesting and has some very interesting ideas. But the UI experience is... bad. It's really bad, folks. I stopped playing because it's so much work to struggle with mislabled tech and windows that don't close properly.
