A while back there was a video on TikTok where a young woman was frustrated that she had been to *twelve* different doctors who had all declined to diagnose her with autism. I get underdiagnosing is a problem but at 12 you gotta embrace that you're just weird, not autistic. And that's okay!

Wow! @menendez.house.gov says that the EXACT scenario I flagged two months ago, where ICE "releases" someone having a medical emergency solely so their death won't be recorded as occurring while in custody, happened last month at the infamous Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, NJ.

If ICE can send subpoenas to deanonymize social media accounts, couldn't they have done it for the anonymous and overtly racist account we found is run by one of their own employees who is still working there?

A long time ago I briefly worked for a regional drug store chain that owned a shop in Highland Park. When I created the chains ads, that store had a special ad with higher prices because if "things were too low they'd assume they are cheap."
Brendel@brendelbored.bsky.social · 6h agoA really funny complaint about the Zohran discount grocery store idea is that non-poor people could use it when there’s a grocery store half a mile from my grocery store that has everything cost 20% more that rich people go to because they don’t want to shop with normal people.
I don't know at what precise age this crystalized in my brain, but I eventually realized there's a point where most of us become problematic simply because keeping up with progress increasingly becomes exhausting.

Folks have covered food, medical treatments, airline safety, etc. I'm going to go with automobile safety. Anti-lock brakes, collision detection, airbags, better seatbelts, crumple zones... all of which has made car crashes a hell of a lot more survivable.
