🧵🧵🧵 A scandal that hardly anyone knows happened is Trump giving traitor Michael Flynn $1.25 million in your tax money. Flynn, Trump’s 1st national security adviser, pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI but was pardoned by Trump. He sued, alleging "weaponization," and DOJ paid him in March. 1/4🧵

Justice Dept. Settles Flynn’s Wrongful Prosecution Suit for $1.25 Million (Gift Article)

The agreement was an extraordinary example of how the Trump administration has offered legal relief to those aligned with the president.

At least a few people who listen to this report are going to look into becoming couriers themselves — bringing mifepristone and misoprostol to the U.S. for distribution to states where abortion has been criminalized. Highly recommend (and there’s a transcript, for the podcast-averse):

Abortion rates were expected to tank after Roe v. Wade was overturned. Instead, medication abortion became easier to get – and it changed everything. 🎧 The new abortion battleground; this week on Reveal

Hanging out on porches with a morning coffee or evening nightcap, going for walks where you seem engaged and alert, being seen visiting with/talking to neighbors all makes it look like a less inviting space to attempt something. A block where you never see anyone is the real inciting problem.

I’ve started thinking about this akin to improving transit conditions, i.e. that the only real fix for “anti-social” behavior is an influx of “social” behavior. Cameras and cops don’t really inhibit this kind of petty stuff, and they won’t rewind it. What will help is making the street seem busy.

you gotta build an offramp for these people!!!! as a lifelong member of liberal bubbles, i know these people, and they are cooking their brains on conspiracies because no one else cares about their chronic pain or is doing anything about corporate consolidation of healthcare and food!

Not an AOC fangirl by any means but I see people criticizing her for this and I gotta say if you don't see the (legitimate) concerns behind the (illegitimate) MAHA "movement" as, at the very least, a political opportunity, you are being willfully obtuse or blinded by privilege or maybe both

I'm currently looking to raise money for #ICEout observers in rural Minnesota, some of whom are easily driving 100mi or more every day while working to exercise their constitutional rights in places where local police openly collaborate with ICE to hinder them. venmo: @quecksilber #FuckICE

33 people were loaded onto today's ICE Air flight at MSP. Minnesota friends: please join me, along with faith, labor, and community leaders, to mourn those who have been killed by ICE, and demand accountability from Delta Air Lines, tomorrow at noon, at the airport: bit.ly/july25mn

It's amazing how the convo about public safety, the police never have to produce any evidence of efficacy, on any particular level, and folks who irrationally scream for more police, despite police lack of proving, those voices get elevated when we need a rational convo the most.

"MnDOT has spent millions on fencing alone," said angela conley on the wedge live episode some fence company is getting rich off of our elected officials' inability to find any real solutions to the homelessness crisis

Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.
