A cool thing about NIMBYs is that if you let them talk long enough they eventually say or do something that gives mayors all the permission they need not to listen to them.

DIRECT ACTION GETS THE GOODS: Turns out there WAS room for more safety improvements at 4th and Channel St, as the community-installed curb extension has been officially replaced with a separated bike lane. This is a start, but we need MORE here and across the city.

We’re back. Two weeks ago, a driver killed a 2 year-old child at 4th and Channel—the third pedestrian fatality of 2026. Since then, all SFMTA has done was repaint the existing crosswalks for a photo op. So the community took matters into our own hands.
