Sunset Dunes isn't going anywhere.
A proposal to reopen S.F.'s Great Highway, now home to Sunset Dunes Park, to cars on weekdays has qualified for the November election. This will be the 3rd time in 4 years that San Franciscans have voted on whether to allow cars on the highway. @sfchronicle.com www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/g...
Another thing NIMBYs have in common with the far right is they are very good at co-opting progressive language and concepts.
It's legit surreal to see this many white affluent homeowners demanding "Equity."
A cool thing about NIMBYs is that if you let them talk long enough they eventually say or do something that gives mayors all the permission they need not to listen to them.
Yikes. "Bikes Will Not Replace Us." When you're mimicking a white nationalist slogan you've totally lost the plot.

Closing the 4th St bridge to cars and opening it to trams and people would make this deadly intersection safer and make transit more reliable. Let's do it. See this vision in action in this illustration from our blog post on the topic www.safestreetrebel.com/blog/communi...
we really gotta close 4th street bridge to cars. Stuck waymo was completely blocking the T during rush hour today causing a huge backup.
DIRECT ACTION GETS THE GOODS: Turns out there WAS room for more safety improvements at 4th and Channel St, as the community-installed curb extension has been officially replaced with a separated bike lane. This is a start, but we need MORE here and across the city.

We’re back. Two weeks ago, a driver killed a 2 year-old child at 4th and Channel—the third pedestrian fatality of 2026. Since then, all SFMTA has done was repaint the existing crosswalks for a photo op. So the community took matters into our own hands.

Shirts are here! Sizes S to XL. $25 a pop. Money from each sale will be donated to orgs fighting ICE. Holler if you want one.
Some in South Minneapolis have created what they call “filter blockades” on Cedar Ave. A handout says the roundabout like blockade is meant to bring neighbors together to strategize against ICE while also identifying traffic coming into the area. Minneapolis February 1, 2026
Thank you to everyone who came out for the #AlexPretti memorial ride in Oakland today. It was a huge turnout, even more than shown here at Lake Merritt, as some people peeled off since the start at Rockridge BART. @bikeeastbay.bsky.social @ebbp.bsky.social
I ❤️ Minneapolis This ride was incredible, especially our interactions with folks at the memorials and with neighbors cheering on from their windows/porches. ICE out, now.

One of the many ways one can be anti fascist is to be pro public transit, to fight for communities where people can walk and bike safely, and to oppose the onslaught of cars in our cities. cars bring isolation and harm, streets for the people build community and let us resist.
It is so funny that the Save Our Street people in Saint Paul are having all of their meetings at the church led by a pastor whose day job is running the local ICE field office.

Jonathan Hale was arrested by LAPD today for painting a crosswalk, even as the city of Los Angeles funnels more money to LAPD and does gymnastics to avoid implementing HLA. @mayor.lacity.gov, Jonny has made repeated attempts to meet with your office and has been iced out. Angelenos deserve better.
