Snow Burrow@bostonjerry.bsky.social · 5h agoOne thing about "edgy" comedians is that the second they perform for an audience that didn't actively decide to spend money to see them (or subscribe to their podcast I guess now) you realize that all of their "jokes" are just them being assholes in front of other assholes.
This is part of why the “I’m an edgy offensive tough guy comic who doesn’t care about your feelings and you aren’t allowed to be mad at me” really grates. Own the line crossing

Look, people keep saying shit like this, and I do not know how to explain to people that "I want the Democrats to hold the GOP accountable for their crimes" is not a statement that the GOP has no agency. It is saying they have agency, they are choosing to do evil, and you have to stand up to them.

This is outrageous, despotic shit and everyone who played a role in it should lose their place in polite society. Show us the warrant. Who asked for it? What did they claim? Have there been grand jury proceedings? Who was in charge? And what judge, if any, signed off on the search warrant?

Seems to me that if there were a legal mechanism to force AI agent traffic to identify itself, and a technological mechanism to allow websites to deny that traffic, we'd solve a lot of problems here
I have talked to them as well and my conclusion is they're lying because it's easier to make the argument they're making if they pretend extreme solipsism.
I’ve talked to people who have earnestly told me that they don’t think OTHER HUMANS have perspective, intent, desire, or interiority. They genuinely think people are equivalent to chat bots because they are functionally identical from outside observation. It’s a fuckin’ weird way to go through life.
Tech LOVES to redefine what words mean. Bitcoin is digital currency, despite the fact it doesn’t do any of the things a currency should do. The metaverse allows for robust human connection, if you believe robust human connection involves almost no actual human connection.
It reminds me of very cool but very inefficient supercomputers playing chess by calculating all possible combinations. Human chess masters don't do it that way. And to your broader point, I totally agree. Well said.
