And I haven't done the math on it, but well over half of the new Dem House caucus is going to be folks who took office after Trump's first inauguration. The folks whose frame of reference for governance is the pre-Trump status quo are going to be decisively outnumbered, and for the first time.

This really is a generational shift IMO: Ossof is a year older than me, and people our age have spent our entire lives watching a murderous, incredibly evil GOP make everything in this country worse. We don't view them as misguided neighbors, we view them as they really are: the enemy of democracy.

Lots of the most prominent members of the Dem class of 2026 are now just stating plainly, over and over, that they feel no obligation to perform rituals of civility for odious scumbags. It's a tectonic shift in political messaging, and one with—it seems to me—real policy implications.

In the coming days and weeks The New York Times will relentlessly try to spin the election results to push more open transphobia. A good way to counter that, and support trans communities, is to completely boycott them. There's no shortage of other post-election analysis and coverage out there.

It's always a good day to start boycotting The New York Times for their ongoing role in trans genocide (alongside many, many other reasons). Our call to do so.

Polls show the majority of Michigan Jewish voters voted for El-Sayed, but that has not stopped the endless "Jewish voters concerned" narratives. I'm sure some are concerned. But one could just as easily write, "American Jews embrace Muslim Senatorial candidate in display of American pluralism."

""El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan, along with the election of some far-left, virulently anti-Israel candidates in the House, will be a warning sign for American Jews and pro-Israel voters alarmed by the Democratic Party’s chilliness towards the Jewish state and tone-deafness towards rising antisemitism.

But given how many Democrats won on conservative turf, the far-left lawmakers will have decidedly less leverage in the new Congress, and will be outnumbered by the numerous red-state and red-district Democrats who won tough races by appealing to moderate voters.

DMFI celebrated the long list of pro-Israel moderates who won, including Reps.-elect Elaine Luria (D-VA), Cait Conley (D-NY), Marni von Wilpert (D-CA) and Bobby Pulido (D-TX).""

New: People addicted to opioids tell me they've been using a compound called SR-17018, which wipes out their withdrawal symptoms and isn't habit forming. The drug was developed with a federal grant in pursuit of safer opioids. But the DEA heard chatter about it online and has now banned it:

Opioid Users Found a ‘Miracle Drug’ to Help Them Quit. Then the DEA Banned It

On Reddit and Discord, people addicted to opioids say SR-17018 can remove withdrawal symptoms. Despite its potential, the DEA has placed it in the same category as heroin.

Shit like this reveals what many of us have been saying: AI is a political project. It is a political technology, not just in the sense intended by Langdon Winner, but in the sense of John Dewey who points to the way that it conditions human interaction.

saw a clip of trump in a debate with hilary, way back when, and it's astonishing, he was so much more articulate and cogent back then, it's like he's just become a bad parody of himself at this point.
