May I also say, this election result was a repudiation of the Republican party. The fastest way for Democrats to mess this up is to begin compromising just to compromise. We can govern effectively and progressively without throwing the GOP lifelines. Stay strong in our values.

Electoral politics isn’t going to liberate us by ourselves, but it’s one tool in the chest. Sometimes, like last night, it can accomplish some of our goals. It’s important not to forget the other tools, too. Getting here felt miraculous. Where we’re going next is what counts now.

Last night was a victory, yes, but trans people are still nervous because anti-trans ballot measures passed. Democrats being elected is NOT a guarantee that things will change for us. Which is why I'm going to keep going hard on them. I don't want Dems winning to mean that things MIGHT change.

This has to be our main thrust now. If we cannot protect our most vulnerable and attacked minority, we cannot protect anyone.

Every time I hear that police are frequently unable to do their jobs because Mary Moriarty is so abrasive — I pinch myself, I look at the crime stats, and then I salute law enforcement for how much good they've done despite this rude lady (who took office in 2023).

NEW: The Trump admin finalized an emergency regulation, which goes into effect tomorrow, authorizing DHS to impose civil monetary penalties for immigration law violations with far less due process. The rule could lead to DHS imposing exorbitant fines on millions of people — fines they can't afford.

Will is 100% right. Has happened to multiple clients of mine. One judge (not my case) has said that this isn't really release and ordered the person *actually* released. But it's forcing us habeas attorneys to win our cases twice (or more)

Holy shit. Marcy Kaptur becomes the latest Dem to release an anti-trans ad, and its worse than all the rest combined. "I voted WITH Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of schools, and let me be clear, boys should NOT play in girls sports." This is getting out of control.

Hey if your friend crosses your mind when they're not around, you should try reaching out & telling them. "Hey! You crossed my mind today. How are you?" It's not weird. You don't need a reason to reach out. Too many of us feel like we disappear from people's lives when we're not physically there.
