From Aotearoa New Zealand, I’m a Green Party member and activist for social change. I believe strongly in te Tiriti Waitangi as the nearest thing we have to a constitution and as a tool for social justice.

You may have noticed I’m a fan of good public policy for the public good, & this one proposal by Greens, I think is an absolute bottom line MUST DO reform to ensure our democracy remains secure #ForAllOfUs Love your work ya big Woke tree huggers! 💚🕊️ #nzpol #NZ www.greens.org.nz/greens_annou...

"... If voters want an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaires, give us the mandate and hell yes, we'll push for it." "[Billionaires] will still be filthy rich, even if they pay their fair share." RNZ where's the "trash-talking"? All I see is Marama spitting facts #nzpol

Unlike the Chrises, Davidson happy to trash-talk billionaires

Greens co-leader Marama Davidson has been on a community walkabout in South Auckland this morning to encourage people to enrol to vote.

Quizzed by reporters on what the Greens would push for in coalition negotiations, Davidson said the Greens wanted "all of the ministerial portfolios".

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has stated that one of non-negotiables is that the finance portfolio goes to his MP Barbara Edmonds. But Davidson said no politician gets to rule things in or out in concrete.

"[Green co-leader Chloe Swarbrick] deserves it. She blimmin' well deserves it," Davidson said.

"Give us the mandate, voters. If voters want an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaires, give us the mandate and hell yes, we'll push for it."

Both Hipkins and National leader Christopher Luxon equivocated in last night's TVNZ leaders debate when asked whether it was immoral to be a billionaire.

Davidson showed no such compunction, declaring that yes, it was immoral, and that they should pay more in tax: "They will still be filthy rich, even if they pay their fair share."

During the TVNZ Leaders' Debate on October 6, 2026, National Party leader Christopher Luxon explicitly stated, “And I’ll put 1000 more gang members into prison.” Hello, what? Do they have to commit crimes first? Does that mean Luxon is…

Which would you rather slash to pay for more Pharmac meds? 1) Foreign aid to poverty stricken people and disaster areas 2) subsidies to Big Tobacco 3) subsidies to oil and gas companies 4) RONS 5) an LNG terminal

Motherfucker, go ahead and try it. Just like the drunk, racist uncle the media love to compare him to, Peters isn’t just some eccentric or a crank, he’s a fucking dangerous man. Just like that uncle, we need to take his damn keys away before things get worse.
