I’m really bad at remembering to take pics for #CarryShitOlympics but just dropped this patio kitchen off at a community playground with the @ternbicycles.com GSD. Did it wearing my new @thewaroncars.bsky.social tee to boot! #BikeDC
🚨 The Council is considering giving development rights to a contractor our government is actively suing. This defies reason. Join me in urging my colleagues to force Buwa Binitie to remedy concerns at 1400 Florida Ave NE and other properties that he's neglected with impunity for years.
Always on team raise revenue vs. cut costs, look at the beautiful blue bar for SeaTac!
One key explanation for the difference in transit ridership between Seattle and Atlanta: Spending. On a per-capita basis in 2024, transit agencies in the Seattle urban area spent almost 6 times as much on transit as those in the Atlanta urban area. www.thetransportpolitic.com/databook/us-...
Any answer other than “who gives a shit, republicans are using a dozen kids playing JV volleyball as a distraction from looting the county and covering for elite pedophiles” is cowardly horseshit
Talarico: "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' sports if it endangers safety or fairness"
If you've spent your whole life going hiking, driving a Prius and having a beautiful garden in the 'burbs, it's horrifying to think that the guy who takes the train and lives in a steel tower is doing a better job of saving the planet than you.
New interactive map compares carbon footprints of Bay Area neighborhoods - Berkeley News
Data on current carbon emissions will help cities meet goals set at Paris climate summit, and show people how they contribute to global warming.

Lastekodu's lesson isn’t that every city needs the same cycle tracks or bike racks. It’s that public space should be designed for what a city wants more of. Tallinn asked a simple question—what should this street be for?—and answered with a place that is safer, greener and more social for everyone.🔚
I can’t wait to read the NYT op-ed from Renee Good’s wife about grief on the one year anniversary of her death. Surely the NYT will extend the same grace to Becca Good—whose partner died protesting against state power—as it has to Erica Kirk—whose partner died defending white supremacy
Family of 4 and we have not driven a car for grocery shopping in 3 years. A full parking lot is a reason to give people mode choice, the 6 spots on the street are not moving the needle. This is just peak #Motonormativity
A. It's a small parking lot & usually full. B. The bike lane doesn't go to the school unless it was another block south. C. Most shoppers buy far more than an ebike carries, are elderly, or come a far distance. D. Literally the only beneficiaries are a small # of bikers. No one else in the community
One of the biggest mayoral upsets in terms of transportation. There have probably been worse, but Wu was actually billed as being extremely good for active transit.
Mayor Michelle Wu billed the plan as a “generationally transformational” layout. 🫠 www.bostonglobe.com/2026/09/04/m...
Kinda crazy that National Guard were once used specifically for situations like this before their mission became Stand Around Where There Are Too Many Black People
It not being ready by opening day is the absolute worst, it’s not only there for the 20 days of the year that waste of space will be used, it’s to support growth and the future. What about the supposed sport plex? Don’t think having easy metro access will help support ops there?
The option to build that new station has got to remain on the table. www.notus.org/metro/comman...
Some might say it's the perfect day for a bike ride 🌞 🚲
Enjoy the comfy weather while it lasts. 😎 ☀️ Today: Sunny, low-mid 80s, low humidity 🌡️ Sunday: Warmer, more humid 🥵 Mon-Wed: Mid-90s, w/ heat indexes near 100 by Wed ⛈️ Storm chances increase midweek Summer far from finished Full forecast at CapitalWeather.com Photo by Jeanne Stuart McVey
This is a machine to ethnically cleanse the country - and anyone who pretends otherwise is kidding themselves
It's crazy how we can build one new world class infrastructure project every month in DC for the exact same money we're burning on national guard theatrics every month in DC...
Can’t believe that the 11th St SE Bridge Park is going out to bid! Congrats to Scott Kratz (At $92M, I also can’t believe that it will be cheaper than installing a new entrance to an ArlVa Metro station) dc.citycast.fm/business-dev...
big change to my material conditions: I am a bike commuter now. I will be updating my transportation opinions dialectically (I am already 27% more opinionated about bike lanes and our school crossing guard comrades)
Took up some space. Prioritized all the joy. We will win! #FreeDC
The Wheatley rally was amazing! @freedcproject.bsky.social & our SCO well-represented, neighbors honked in support, @cmzparker5.bsky.social was there, & the Guard drove through at the end so we could all tell them to go home! Check ABC, FOX, Univision, AJC, & more for coverage! #FreeDC #GoWhales
I was in double kid duty tonight, did anyone here go to the @wmata.com town hall on RFK transit? Any BRT updates?
Carver Langston resident, the fields at RFK user and friend to many in Kingman park. This is the right move, just because it’s zoned HF by right does not mean everything is max sized, but it gives the option and we need to be up zoning a lot more of DC.
Interesting: As a step towards the required zoning of the RFK site for the Commanders stadium development, @mayorbowser.dc.gov has proposed amending the city's Future Land Use Map to designate RFK for high-density residential and commercial development. (Like downtown, Navy Yard, NoMa.)
🤯 A car-free car racing event? Sounds impossible! In the Netherlands last weekend, nearly all of the 110,000 fans attending the #Formula1 #GrandPrix arrived by bike or public transit. Cars were practically banned. Ironic to say this: but it's a masterclass in sustainable mega-event planning.
Power's out in the neighborhood because someone crashed their e-bike into a power pole. Still a chaotic scene 7 hours later. jk it was a car
Mamdani just keeps on smashing the "do good things actually" button that every other US mayor keeps locked in the basement.
Parents, what would you do with four hours of child-free time? We launched a Parents’ Night Out program with NYC Parks to give NYC parents a little time back for themselves, because we’re committed to making it easier to raise a family in the greatest city in the world.
The sidewalk coloring book is ready for 1000+ riders!! I look forward to this ride every year and you should too! Ground Shift Studio is grateful for continued partnership with @hillfamilybiking.org !

We’re thrilled to announce that the Mount Vernon Trail has been inducted into the @railstotrails.org 2026 Trail Hall of Fame! This national recognition celebrates the Mount Vernon Trail as one of the country’s most outstanding trails.
In the new episode, @davidzipper.bsky.social noted that the US is so uniquely bad at road safety that the OECD now calculates global crash trends without including US data. That prevents America's struggles from overshadowing other countries' progress.
