Hidden talents and strong opinions, will respond when enraged.

Great to see that National support 30 weeks Paid Parental Leave. Especially after they voted against the introduction of PPL. Blocked the extension to 26 weeks for several years. Canceled 33 pay equity claims. And just this year, cut Best Start payments for the majority of new parents.

That’s right. If this shit is intolerable, be consistent. Shane Jones accused you of giving Modi a blow job. David Seymour protected a now convicted pedophile. Having them in cabinet is something you’re clearly “comfortable” with. www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361...

Hipkins to PM: Nash had to go, but still you tolerate NZ First's sex jibes and racism

Hipkins says Nash’s resignation exposes Luxon’s leadership, accusing the PM of ignoring Shane Jones’ controversial remarks.

In Aotearoa New Zealand Parliament today. "The Speaker has 'named' Green Party co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick for refusing to leave the House. The punishment means the MP had to once again leave the House, and will have her pay docked." [ www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic... ] #nzpol

18,500 children have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza. Despite these war crimes, the US has provided more than $22 BILLION for the war. Via [ www.facebook.com/senatorsande... ] #nzpol

Imagine it’s the west of Ireland in 1847, during the Great Famine? Starving men, women, children desperately try to get to the Workhouse or charity Soup Kitchens. British Red Coat soldiers line up on the road, fire, then bayonet wounded by the road, while laughing. 1/

Happy 276th birthday Edward Jenner! What a time for vaccination: 154 million lives saved in the last 50 years, tempered with an increase in vaccine preventable diseases across the world, vaccine sceptics in charge in the US, and cuts to overseas aid threatening global immunisation programmes.

OK I found the Hipkins quote. This is the 2nd time RNZ's headlines print out of context. May I suggest some care when quoting then? What it is is Hipkins saying if we accept Peters' recommendation then we would not have needed bigger ferries. But it was Peters WHO RECOMMENDED IT. It's a dig #nzpol

RNZ article excerpt of Hipkins' full quote:

"With the benefit of 2020 hindsight, accepting Winston Peters' recommendation that we should go for two mega ferries in the first place probably wasn't the wisest decision.

"Two smaller ferries, which is where the Government has landed now, might have been better from the outset - that wasn't what Winston Peters recommended."
