I know at least 5 peeps w/NIH grants that have scored 1-4% who are not being funded. My hopes are those who are funded are using their resources to help others, particularly junior faculty. Sharing resources, personnel, time, etc… If we don’t all pull together, science and the country suffers.

I am so happy to see @stedhammer.bsky.social last thesis chapter taking the shape of a publication. We looked into the role of the elusive GGAs cargo sorting adaptors. Alex‘s works hints at a role in the modulation of the binding of AP-1 adaptors to its clients #membranes #trafficking #CRISPR

Thanks, Chris! And yep, all going brilliantly - 270 delegates and fantastic talks and posters. Great to see so much support for fundamental discovery science and membrane biology here! Thanks @jcellsci.bsky.social, @embojournal.org and @bscb-official.bsky.social for support!

Haven’t posted for a while but @jezcarlton.bsky.social opening up the annual UK membrane trafficking meeting #UKMT seems like an appropriate reason to post! Great line up - as ever - with organisers Jez and Chris Stefan introducing a poster session too 🤓

I’ll be presenting this work (and a bunch of unpublished data) at 2.45pm at the #yeast2025 conference 🤓 This collaboration with @merusadhu.bsky.social has also benefitted from the meeting, as we planned more experiments on the river last night 👌

Happy to have this work on the effectiveness of sulfamate based inhibitors on carbohydrate sulfatases out in @pnas.org www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas. #glycotime The summary is: Current sulfatase inhibitor technology is not effective on S1 carbohydrate sulfatases of the human colonic microbiota.

I spoke with authors/reviewers that had been part of the pilot during the biologists@100 meeting - they were extremely positive about the process. We also had great first experience with @biologyopen.bsky.social last year. Only issue with the model is mechanisms to cover APCs are vanishing.

Publishing scientific papers is an obstacle course. There are many aspects to this but lengthy review times are one. That's why I am very excited about the new initiative @biologyopen.bsky.social, @biologists.bsky.social open access journal: Fast & Fair 1/n 🧪 journals.biologists.com/bio/pages/fa...

- A postdoc to work on cancer extravasation (4-year project). - A postdoc help in completing Filopodia-related lab projects (2-year). - Multiple Marie Curie postdoc positions that will open in the fall. - We will open a 5-year position to cover my teaching (70% research and 30% teaching).

Are you looking for a postdoc? I will be looking for 2-4 people after the summer to join the lab !! Do not hesitate to reach out and disseminate !!
