Money out of politics. Money in your pocket. Medicare for All. Michigan... We won. I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let's win in November.

The only way out of this fascism is a real and radical vision of American greatness, and I believe that Medicare for All is a big part of that.
Seattle centrists and establishment are making the same mistakes as they did with social housing. Good. The library levy is winning by > 72%, roughly the same percentage as social housing. Fighting an energized Seattle left that just elected a socialist mayor is a fool's errand.
I'm a @seattletimes.com subscriber, because I do want to support actual journalism, and in the bigger scheme of our country I do think the ST is helpful. ANYWAY this wording is sooo telling in the wake of their explicit "no" vote endorsement for this very levy. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
The polling was SO off (El-Sayed was up > 10%) that it's taking me a while to process that the left just SWEPT Michigan primaries. El-Sayed, anti-genocide and Medicare For All ✅ Lawrence, Sunrise Movement co-founder and pro datacenter regulation ✅ McKinney, DSA member defeating a crypto shill ✅
Goodnight
Literally a week after Barnes was fired the hours of the CARE team were expanded from 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM - 1:00 AM. Firing Barnes got results fast! www.instagram.com/p/DboFnMosVVJ/
Seattle's crisis response team leader Amy Barden hasn't met with Police Chief Shon Barnes since Bruce Harrell appointed him in 2024, despite the fact that the two departments are supposed to work together to decide which 911 calls require cops and which require a social work/mental health response.
MEDICARE FOR ALL LET'S FOCKING GO. In 2016 I felt very, very deeply about #MedicareForAll and Bernie Sanders. If you support M4A, you need to do anything and everything to ensure that @abdulelsayed.bsky.social beats the Republican come November.
Goodnight
way closer than expected, but an Arab leftist besting 70 million in outside spending is an Arab leftist besting 70 million in outside spending: a political earthquake and a new dawn 25 years after 9/11
It's times like these that I am reminded of how powerful the establishment and money is in American politics, and also how hopeful progressive wins can be.

I’m ok if people take food from my garden. If some people “take advantage” and over harvest the food I grow, I should try to make a bigger garden, right? If somebody is hungry you feed them and give them water, no matter what. That’s the most basic and essential form of compassion.
For those who’ve been looking for ways to help Spokane, a thread of donation opportunities👇
As the Spokane community continues to face the devastating impacts of local wildfires, you can help your neighbors. We will continue to update this thread with more opportunities to help!
I would love to know what's been happening on the backend that shifted Week In Review guest selection. KUOW could even report on it. Big donor pressure? Marketing realignment? I just keep going back to the preelection ep where all 3 guests said Katie Wilson's childcare assistance was disqualifying.
I can't let the obvious shift in guest composition on Week in Review in 2026 go by unremarked upon.

The idea that Pete Buttigieg is qualified to be president has got to be one of the most patently ridiculous delusions that has been expressed in the past 20 years of American politics.
Has Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine held a press conference about the train derailment yet?
Just want to check I didn't miss anything. Dow Constantine still hasn't held a press conference about the downtown portion of the system being shut down for 14 hours right?
A message to Brian Heywood - gtfo of our district. A message to everyone else: progressive lawmakers should be able to make a CLEAR case for how government is materially delivering on lower costs & better lives for working people. 1/
KUOW says that "influencers" like me are the reason you should give them money. If you want "police say" statements, I guess go for it. If you want deeply sourced, in-depth investigative reporting by someone who's been a journalist in Seattle since 2001, support PubliCola! publicola.com/support/

ST and KUOW have visceral disdain for @theurbanist.org and @publicola.bsky.social; if they tell you who their enemies are, support them. Seattle Times: "[...], and a rep of The Urbanist, the builders' media mouthpiece" KUOW and Week In Review: *bad mouths Publicola and regular guest Erica Barnett*

Also frustrating: Scott Greenstone assumes progressive Council members are as petty and politically vengeful as establishment colleagues. "Allies... Like Rinck" may not support Wilson's agenda now. IDK, is Rinck so egotistical that she'll block good programs because she wasn't consulted re: Barnes?
Oh HELL no. @kuow.org people trashing my work and calling me an "influencer" on Week In Review, claiming—with no receipts whatsoever—that Gil Kerlikowske, Carmen Best, and Adrian Diaz also spent a quarter to a third of their time outside Seattle. www.kuow.org/podcast/week...
Beyond the disrespect, it is such a miss that Week in Review didn't have @ericacbarnett.bsky.social on for an issue that she had been reporting on extensively on via Publicola for the last 2 years. And if not Erica, at least have another guest on with a different perspective??
It's beyond infuriating to listen to people disparage my work and get nothing but agreement from KUOW's own staffers, including tacit agreement by the host who did not push back when they said things that were inaccurate, called me an "influencer," and said I was not a journalist.

It is truly disgusting that elements of the conservative Seattle City council and NIMBYs are trying to politicize the shootings and deaths at Seattle Center to advance their agendas. Very clear that @mayor.seattle.gov is focused on fixing our city while her political opponents are focused on her.
What in the conspiracy theorist tone-policing NIMBY fever dream is this? Jennifer Godfrey/Orca Nexus/"Orca Appeal" trying to co-opt Bob Kettle's tone policing, implying "urbanists" (who are apparently all young wealthy white men?) are engaging in hostile and violent rhetoric.
