people with chronic pain warned us at the time but the criminalization of women and minority people’s pain after the opioid crisis is a public health disaster. I’ve had friends denied pain management after hysterectomies, dental extractions and broken bones.

Miller’s actions here are clearly designed to inflict pain on his child and his wife. Abusers often destroy, take, or “lose” objects of emotional value to their victims, and it’s deeply psychopathic to target a child’s beloved transitional object in this way. Miller gives family annihilator vibes.
