Build the downtown bike lanes. Personal vehicles just don’t fit downtown, not to mention the safety risks they impose.

This is ridiculous. Shame on NDOT for getting rid of the loading zone on the way down Demonbruen hill. I watched two Lime bike riders get forced into traffic because of this.
Registration is OPEN & we want at least 5 more registrants! Bike, helmet provided if needed. events.humanitix.com/all-ages-lea... cc @walkbikenashville.bsky.social @bikeleague.org @cycling.city @urbaneastnash.bsky.social

I believe this would get directed to Parks Police, but there isn’t a good way to do so.
E-Bike/Greenways enthusiasts - A resident asked me if there's a way to report bikes that run at higher levels than a class 1/class 2 on greenways. The resident's issue was specific to Shelby Bottoms. Is that something she can report on Hub? If so where does it go? (Parks?)
Satuday August 29th! Streets are for families!
The people have spoken. I'll see you and your babies there. (the entire city is invited.)
According to NDOT we have 530 miles of bikeways. They claim 55% are “low stress”. That would be about 290 miles or 190 not counting greenways. They consider plastic sticks as low stress. I suggest they ride a bike in Nashville more often.
Why flex posts are bullshit infrastructure. Exhibit A:
look how they massacred my boy
Have been off the bike for a few days due to a minor wrist surgery. Every time I have to drive I'm shocked at how much longer it takes than biking. Like it's fine if people want to drive for recreation or whatever, but this is just not a practical way to get around.

Same model truck as the guy who I suspect was the person attacking cyclists downtown the other day
Sure looks like this guy
How fast do you think I could bike through 5 gerrymandered congressional districts? Start near 100 Oaks in D4, go north into Berry Hill and D6, then towards Lipscomb across D7 and down along Hillsboro Pike into Brentwood, hitting D5 and D9. ~11 miles. I'm seriously thinking about doing this.
I toted my new bike down the Natchez Trace Parkway to do some gravel riding in Lawrence County this past weekend. Tons of fun, but also exhausting.
New bike day! Kona Sutra for touring and gravel. What should I name her?
The MTB race on Sunday AM is going to be a muddy mess and I am not enthused
Saturday will likely be another line/cluster of storms *sometime* in the evening. It's hard to get any more specific than that right now but come tmrw we'll be able to watch it on radar and have a better idea.
General note to NDOT.
Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @usa.streetsblog.org @nyc.streetsblog.org
I just had a 20-min conversation with Mitch McConnell about how much he likes Toronto Barriers and that he doesn’t think bike lanes are DEI. He said Nashville needs more of them.
If you think e-bikes are a hazard for teenagers, wait until you hear about cars.
This. We have zero other safe north/south routes through downtown, so closing this one has a huge impact on people's safety and ability to move through the city.
The greenway/1st ave being completely blocked for bike and ped thru traffic during events is not cool. That said, it wouldn’t be as bad if we had just built the 3rd Ave mobility lanes we were supposed to.

Hey TN peeps! I need to rehome a vintage Santana tandem (late 90s) in rideable condition. 3x8 mixed drivetrain, with the third (optional) drag brake. I don't care about selling it I just want to avoid the scrap heap. I have a car rack for it too, and (I think) an adapter for little kids. LMK!
