Fallstaff’s Sorrowful Refrain

@docstock.bsky.social

It’d be better for us if you don’t understand.

It's not a coincidence that everyone still whining, in the year of our lord 2026, about covid lockdowns are all people who should be forcibly locked in their homes with all the doors and windows bolted shut from the outside while the rest of us just quietly forget that they ever existed at all

Miller is confused because he was simply living out a key plank of the Republican platform: domestic abuse, a goal of right that they legislate and govern to promote and vote as a primary electorate to support. They believe men should abuse women and children. This man is a representative case.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

You might think it's racist to melt down about the appearance of a black woman in a movie, but have you considered that progressives do a totally different thing?

Social media really showed absolutely anybody paying attention that the rich and powerful are dumb schlubs, as dumb as anybody, and we started pointing it out and making fun of them and they went absolutely apeshit on the world and on governed society in return

There was a quote that said something like Black people worship a Jesus who knows what it's like to be lynched, while white people worship a Jesus who will forgive them for being part of a lynch mob.

This is both a correct description of the current situation and also very clearly the thing that needs to change. Higher education cannot survive without public support and that will never be forthcoming until we convince a critical mass of the public to support knowledge for its own sake.

Conversations about the future of higher education in the US need to start from the unfortunate, basic fact that both Democrats and Republicans agree with Reagan that government should not subsidize curiosity driven learning and inquiry.

Glad your vibe coded personalized keto assistant has increased your protein input or whatever but people actually hate this shit for reasons that have nothing to do with pollution or structural power, which are also bad. They hate this shit because it is making their lives, personally, worse.

people were expecting to preen and smile at the nazi party, and instead they experienced a state of panic, possibly for several minutes, at the nazi party meanwhile it's two years in and we still don't know how many people have died in this administration's domestic and overseas torture camps

Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be."

the irony is that there are many journalists who are threatened and killed for their work globally, except they don’t overlap at all with the people willing to attend the MAGA White House correspondent’s dinner
