The cult of LLMs is deeply ridiculous. LLMs are not, and never will be, sentient. You’ve created a statistical machine that uses statistics to create output that looks like the training data. No matter how wishful your thinking, this is clearly not how human thought or sentience works.
Agents carry guns for a reason, and wear body armor for a reason, and, yes, learn to fight for a reason. But those are simply the tools of their trade, not accessories to make them look cool. Patel does not understand the difference, which is why most of the workforce has utter contempt for him.
To succeed, Hegseth et al need us to believe they act from noble causes. His "warrior ethos," for instance. There's nothing noble about shooting a man to death on live TV. There's nothing noble about picking on "trannies." There's nothing noble about "testing for testosterone." It's barbarism.

maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me
its just weird how theyre never gaming out scenarios for curing cancer or anything like that, i couldve sworn they said that was one of their big goals
