Self-hating globalist

This is the problem with populism: you cannot build a republic on a foundation of conspiracies. Corruption and special interests are real challenges, but reducing politics to “us” against “them” infantilizes the electorate and sows the seeds of authoritarian rule.

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

Standing Together joined a protest and memorial for Awdah Hathaleen, an activist, teacher, and resident of Umm al-Khair in the West Bank who was killed a year ago last week by notorious settler Yinon Levi. (4/6) bsky.app/profile/stan...

☠️ A Year After a Settler Shot Awdah Hathaleen, His Village Still Can't Mourn in Peace By Abby Seitzand and Nagham Zbeedat 🧵🏴‍☠️ www.haaretz.com/west-bank/20...

Every reply to this on the other place is those who don't know basic terminology losing their minds, echoing the self-owning conflation of Zionism and Judaism (which usually offends them greatly). Some stuff is beyond parody. "How dare this hospital assert that the Jewish people continue to live!"

Ever since the end of Obama’s presidency, I’ve been waiting for the US to stop giving Israel a blank check/guaranteed veto at the UN. That conversation is long dead & the conversation now is about whether Israel should exist, settler colonialism, AIPAC’s control of our govt & Jewish blood quantum

The divide in the Democratic Party over I/P is shifting from Gaza to whether Israel should exist at all. Any candidate expressing support for a single state should face questions about how it will deal with Islamist political parties, especially if that single state includes the right of return.

Either way, it's going to get worse. Even if peace comes to the Middle East tomorrow, enough people have been radicalized into ZOG conspiracies that it's going to affect politics & the discourse for a while.

As of this week, hundreds of thousands of Haitians lost their legal status. Most have lost work permits as well. That's left many people unable to support themselves. Here is a verified link to a fundraiser supporting Haitians in Springfield. Please drop links to other fundraisers in the replies.

Stand with Haitian Families in Crisis

Build the Emergency Fund that protects families when everything feels uncertain. The end of TPS. Increasing ICE actions. Families losing work authorization overnight. For Haitian parents and children ...

Weird type of BlueSky dissonance where people are (rightly) identifying the AIPAC fearmongering as a fairly obvious antisemitic dog-whistle side by side with calling people Islamophobes for identifying this tendency and saying it out loud

not just playing stupid; they literally regurgitate the exact usual right-wing defences of racism, it's wild! Right down to the now very common "lol calling everything that doesn't work anymore"

Since some people seem to be confused about this: the dogwhistle is saying that AIPAC bought the election she lost. They did not, and in fact they also opposed her opponent. So how am I supposed to interpret this unless we take “AIPAC” to be a synecdoche for something else.
