according to the article, it took hours after the personal intervention of the mayor for his family to even get basic information about him. that information included that he had been transferred to ICE custody hours after being shot. no amnesty

And what they got in return is what every other marginalized group deemed disposable has gotten. A spineless candidate who will decide that advice from an overpriced conservative think tank posing as a Democratic advisor is more valuable than the people who brought them to the dance.

This is super fucked up - adding too-short deadlines and excessive paperwork demands on people with disabilities is just another way to push them out of public life

Requests for disability accommodations are not special privileges. They are required for people with disabilities to be able to work, and they should not be treated carelessly or maliciously.
And also! The voters they are trying to win are not real either. There are NO voters looking at the candidates and going "oh if only they were transphobic! That's the only thing they have to change and then I'll vote for them". That person does not exist. These candidates are doing this for NOTHING!

If you're trying to propose to people with trans children in their lives that their lives are a worthwhile sacrifice for other Democratic priorities, consider whether you'd be convinced that your children should be sacrificed for the greater good of someone else's family.
