Interesting passage in the mea culpa on antisemitism from Tory council candidate at centre of selection row, supporting the view - fiercely denied by most on left at the time - that Corbyn was a magnet drawing antisemitic cranks into Labour. By 2015, when I was 22 turning 23, this ideology had become my whole exis-tence. I welcomed Jeremy Corbyn's election as Labour leader because I saw him as hostile to Israel and aligned with anti-Zionist politics. In my mind, all of this was part of the same war. Alongside those I associated with, I began targeting Jewish MPs and becoming loudly vocal about what we called "Jew-ish infiltration". A reminder that Rafael Behr was so scared of mild social democracy in the UK that it gave him a heart attack which he claimed it was caused by Corbyn's antisemitism. Antisemitism which he is so relaxed about he's now endorsing someone who was jailed for it.

I don't want to add to any ratios here, but there have been a few incidences of 'I am deeply saddened and shocked at the reaction to the death of [X very nefarious journalist and proven abuser]' Yes, that's kind of the point. These responses act as a warning and deterrent against abusing your power.

“Automatic” in the FIFA regs/code just means that there’s no need for additional process—i.e., an investigation or disciplinary proceeding—to determine the applicable sanction. It does not mean the sanction is unreviewable. It does not mean that Article 27 cannot be invoked to suspend the sanction.
