Really weird to me how incredibly rich white men get to say stuff like "in three to four years we'll be achieving nuclear fusion from honey" and the stock markets go "wow, sounds great bro!" and the news just reports it with maybe a paragraph at the end of "critics say this is unlikely".

The problem with using an LLM for some narrow use case where you think it’s actually appropriate is that you’re using it in the context of a UX system designed to make you expand your usage and change your views of what is “appropriate”

This is the exact same kind of statement that Turkish or Indian diaspora groups make when people criticize Erdoğan or the BJP, it's just pure nationalism dressed up with social justice language. Which, y'know, is fine, it's what I expect, but nobody has to pretend it's anything different.

This is part of why young people take antisemitism less seriously than they should.

Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus.
