Zoomer Antimillenarian@surcomplicated.bsky.social · 15h agoWhile the gap between Dem and GOP talent keeps snowballing hard in favor of Dems, there has been an absolute decline in Dem talent, as a delayed effect of the local and state-level wipeouts under Obama.
Some people think we need to triangulate and moderate ideologically to appeal to the maximum number of voters. Others think we need dynamic, exciting candidates who can galvanize new support outside of traditional demographics. Personally, I think we're all sinners in the hands of an angry God.

I don’t think trans athletes would want to compete if it was unfair. But no evidence can convince the anti-trans side.

There's the seething hatred for Iran among the American foreign policy establishment that appears to be largely based on "they support the (often unpleasant) guys who shoot back at the US when the US does some dumbass military campaign in the middle east" and there feels like an easier fix here
It is kinda weird that the American public response to the Iraq war being kinda a disaster was "oh stove is hot! let's not do that again" but the blob's reaction was "oh stove is hot! this makes me very angry at the neighboring, larger, stove providing some of the heat, I will touch that one now"
