Sandy Peggie's daughter is crying about her hateful mother having an awful time. Living it up on holiday, hosted by JKR, adored by the press. Not a hard life at all. Dr Beth Upton is the one who had an awful time. Leaving the country, hiding away and being vilified and attacked wherever she goes.

It frustrates me so deeply that cis people simply cannot concieve of transphobia as something serious.

Well, “we will drag you all down with us”, when lots of folks are facing even more danger today than the trans community is from Talarico Dems (how about those being held in concentration camps, sent to Eswatini or Gitmo, or killed by ICE?), is kind of being an asshole according to my worldview.

Naomi Cunningham has become so unhinged about trans people that she's making Sarah Phillimore look reasonable. Taking pictures of - or filming - people in a public toilet with the explicit purpose of posting online to shame them is almost certainly illegal Naomi.

I realise this is a clear troll but this is just incorrect. Caroline cossey ans April Ashley used women’s spaces in the 70s. When the UK government defended itself (and lost) at ECtHR they defended themselves by saying that trans women were accommodated in female hospital wards and prisons

I realise I repeat this on like a daily basis, but please me restate it again - the ‘status quo’ in the UK for decades was trans inclusion. What we have now is not really precedented for a 21st century democracy.

Yeah, so the 2010s were a long referendum on whether we should 1) be reasonable and decent people, and invest in infrastructure and services, or whether we were going to 2) be abysmal horrible bastards and let the island slide into the sea. I’m afraid politicians and press unified on 2).

Folk criticising trans people in the US for being pissed off at Democrats for shoving them under the bus while chasing more right-wing votes, maybe take a look at the UK. Brits were convinced to get rid of the Tories at any cost & we've had 2 years of the nastiest anti-trans Labour government.

Looks like there is genuinely nothing more than in the nick Wallis article. They've cancelled everyone's surgery indefinitely because one transphobe complained. the Welsh service sees and refers more patients than English clinics. So all those surgeries are cancelled. No patient safety concerns.

Regardless of your thoughts on voting strategies, the way trans people are being spoken to and about by self-described "progressives" and "allies" is absolutely wild.

A reminder that this all started circa 2015/16 with “legitimate concerns” over some small and trivial reforms to the Gender Recognition Act. That evolved into transgendercide. We were told by many at the time that we were too ferocious in our response, but evidently we did not go hard enough.

This is exactly the outcome that the “gender-critical” movement, which is directing the EHRC, wanted. A situation in which trans people cannot exist in the workplace - or anywhere else in public - at all.

Regardless of your position, impliedly threatening members of a minority you disagree with the voting choice of with the camps is fucking abhorrent. Can you not see yourselves?

Every time I see an American claim that trans people kill their own support, I think about how in the UK, self ID polled majority support until the media attacked it. When Labour accepted self ID should die, we were told to let them win, it would get better. Now we have a bathroom ban. Fuck you.

They apparently took all of the wrong lessons from the wildly successful gay rights movement, choosing to be as alienating as possible. I won't be surprised if it ends up like abortion and 20 years from now public opinion is effectively frozen on the issue somewhere around 50/50.

This is the goal of bathroom bills: to drive trans people from public life so we can be exploited and exterminated in the shadows Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
