It has funded FREE school lunch for ALL students, FREE buses in lowest income communities (people can get to work, etc.), and FREE community college. And "exodus" was minimal.
Yea, look... people's priorities are f---ed, I don't know what to tell you. The things to be MAD at Disney about are what their executives and shareholders do re: workers and creator rights. Kevin Smith getting paid to make the action figures fight in a comic book is... fine? Might be fun? 🤷♂️

@lastpositivist.bsky.social · 7d agoMy near-term prediction is this will be met with soft resistance (and not always principled, or at least as much motivated by unwillingness to pay and sheer indifference) initially from British civil society, and the next round fight is a bunch of lawsuits from GCs to try and force compliance.

One thing that's always irritated me whenever someone claims something as simple as a sex scene isn't "justifiable" or "necessary" is that if you only made a piece of media with that criteria in mind, you'd have nothing but bare bones lazy slop. A lot of misunderstandings online come from people learning about a subject without the essential critical thinking skills that they would have learned in college/class. Reading an conclusion isn't the same thing as learning on how to come to a conclusion.

on two occasions I have run into a dude who went with the "I identify as a woman" thing because he thinks its really funny and my learning has been that if you take his word for it and start calling him a woman he stops finding it funny in about 1 second and starts getting upset & so you don't stop
