IIRC, Katsushi Murakami was the one who pushed for Machine Robo to have the same level of engineering and quality as larger deluxe toys but in a small, affordable package that kids could buy with pocket money. He basically created a whole new paradigm for toys.

This is the person that pre-AI bs would ask you for thousand sketches, you provide, they come back "disgruntled" that its not like they want it, then they refuse to pay. That was pretty much the story I had with a client in 2015 or so. I'm sure many of you have had similar "hell" clients.

Tried my hand at a non-Transforming robot custom this weekend with the Hammond Collection Indominus Rex.

I saw a post saying that any critic would get a backlash after trashing a popular film. And I'm just not sure that should be normal. It's fun when a critic hates something! We should want reviewers with high standards and weird/obtuse opinions. A film isn't a sports team you support!

My genuine hope is that him being self-aware enough of this means there is a chance this blowback will get him to realize he has to stop it. That's probably me huffing copium, but with how things are nowadays it'd be a(n even more) massive blow to science communication if he goes full AI.

Compound this with seasons being "at best" 2 years apart where any sort of interest momentum has been dead and buried. And also for, again at best, 10 episodes? We're back to weekly releases because shows have lost any sense of permanence too. I'm sorry, it's just trash for everyone involved.

I'm still mad Netflix cancelled that amazing Dark Crystal show, but it teaches you one thing; never get invested.
