Listening to a youtube show on war. "Recently Ukrainian president Zelensky sacked his defence minister AND his Chief of the Army. For more on what this means for Ukraine, I spoke to a Russia expert (insert name here)". It's so subtle no one in the comments even noticed it.
as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.

"Making fees voluntary, at least nominally, could be a way out of the impasse, although an implied threat of Iranian attacks could mean shippers would be unlikely to risk transit without paying."

Mario Sixtus@sixtus.net · 5h agoKlingbeil schreibt in einem Gastbeitrag in der "Zeit", dass er für die Prüfung eines AfD-Parteiverbots wäre. Er schreibt allerdings nicht, dass er das Verfahren anschieben will. Auf mich wirkt das ein wenig wohlfeil. Ich glaube ihm erst, wenn er via Bundesrat oder Bundestag die Initiative ergreift.

Ich habe genau so die Sommer meiner Kindheit in Erinnerung. Etwa 25 - 29 Grad. Manchmal wurden 30 Grad angekratzt. Ich wünsche mir dieses Klima zurück. Aber das hat die Menschheit verkackt.

Heute fast schon ein kühler Sommertag, wo die Leute überlegen, ob man überhaupt baden gehen kann. Zeigt wie verschoben die Wahrnehmung schon ist.
Eine Amnestie würde die Situation zumindest ein bisschen entschärfen. Was unterscheidet die Unterbringung zu zehnt in einem kleinen Hafteaum mit vergitterten Fenstern bei diesen Temperaturen von unmenschlicher/ erniedrigender Behandlung, die bei uns absolut verboten ist?
