I am bilingual as well and also a translator. I've had clients send me AI analysis of my translations to check and believe me, it's a mess. Being bilingual does not automatically make you good at translating (it's in fact, speaking from experience, a handicap if you're bilingual from birth!)
Most transphobia, or so it seems to me, is about wanting culturally contingent hierarchies and identity scripts to be Inscribed in Nature in some deep way that obviates the need for reflective examination, and getting very anxious and angry about anything that makes it clear that’s a fantasy.

For example, during Woke 1.0 @davekarpf.bsky.social made a joking reference to Bret Stephens being a begbug, causing Stephens to try to get Dave fired. That was crazy.

Basically none of what woke one asked of anybody was even on the same level as the expectation that when you go to a baseball game you stand up for the national anthem, or that kids “pledge“ “allegiance” at school
I still remember at school on 9/11 they wheeled out one of those wheeled TV carts so we could watch the live feeds. in retrospect it’s kind of weird how they brought them out at 8:35am EST and said “just watch for a few minutes. Something important is about to happen”

my neighborhood 7-11 closed a couple years ago and tried to reopen but couldn’t get the permit approved because there’s a preschool next door and 7-11s sell alcohol (the previous permit was grandfathered in). i saw a fence going up around the lot recently and looked up what was moving in: a gun shop
