Once a bustling 20th-century tourist attraction, with rowing boats & a miniature pirate ship, Scarborough Mere, a natural lake) is now mainly a fishing area & tranquil haven for wildfowl (having taken over the former boat landing platforms) within the woodland of Oliver's Mount Country Park.

🧵Whitby Abbey is often claimed to be the most romantic ruin in Yorkshire, perched dramatically on its windswept cliff. I have to say I disagree. For me, this title requires a different atmosphere and a gentler, more intimate beauty. I think, Jervaulx Abbey surpasses it.

One time I thought I'd give AI a proper chance, a couple of months ago just asked my glasses what time the next bus from where I was left. It confidently told me a time. Which was completely wrong. Until they get rid of the "may be completely bollocks" caveat this stuff is basically useless.
