Liberalism is cool and good. Let's do more of that.

to little surprise, "Tailscale oh no no no no no" turns out to be...uh. well, you can read it yourself. this is an axe-grinding exercise that uses confident-sounding slop as camouflage.

+100 either you made the best software or not we're in this phase of shipping fast janky things and I'll be the first to say it's fun and often useful, but we will also see big new tentpoles calcify into 'best' with sustained evolution and polish, with care, with firm thoughtful direction

To me the right reaction to being told "I don't want to try it because it was made with AI" is not self-righteous indignation. The right reaction is to keep on working until it is undeniably the best and most useful thing it can be, out-competing alternatives by a mile.

“Child safety” measure that restrict teenagers’ access to information and ability to communicate with each other should 100% be seen in the context of youth protest movements — in India, France, the U.S., Mexico, the Philippines, and a whole lot more places.

It's so regressive. People get caught up in some weird "dignity of work" mindset. We should be trying to reduce people's toil! For every job that's fulfilling or genuinely provides transcendental value by being done by a human, there are a few dozen that just suck and are only done for the paycheck

“I don’t want AI to replace artists and writers” is a humanist sentiment but “I don’t want robots to replace delivery drivers” just comes across as regressive to me.
